New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul could report to the team "sometime in the next two weeks" and believes he is ready to play "for the rest of the season" according to Jason Cole of Bleacher Report.

Pierre-Paul has been working with former NFL defensive line coach John Blake on changing his techniques to compensate for the devastating injuries to his hand suffered in a July 4th fireworks accident. Once he reports, JPP will still have to be cleared by the Giants medical staff before he can return to the field. Pierre-Paul has consistently been too optimistic (or is in denial) about his chances of returning. It still seems likely he will have to sit out the entire 2015 season.

Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz gets PRP injection in injured calf

New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz had a platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection Thursday in his injured left calf. PRP is supposed to promote healing in the affected area, Jordan Raanan of the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

The procedure occurred at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York.

"Hopefully it's able to make me feel better, and hopefully advance the recovery process in any way, shape, or form," Cruz said.

Cruz aggravated a calf strain Wednesday in his first practice back. He lasted three plays after originally hurting the calf last month, admittedly a result of overcompensation following a serious knee injury he suffered last year.

The MRI showed that the most recent aggravation of the calf isn't anywhere near as severe as the original injury, according to Cruz.
