IRVING -- At the end of the Cowboys 34-7 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night was defensive coordinator Rob Ryan taking the blame for the loss.

Ryan said Eagles coach Andy Reid kicked his butt.

Jason Garrett is asked numerous times about Ryan's boasts. Ryan has gone after the Eagles several times from calling them the all-hype team to saying if the Eagles are concerned about what he says they're in trouble already.

"I think one of the things we talk about as an organization is having the right kind of people in your organization as coaches and players and everybody involved in our football operation," Garrett said. "When you lose a game there are two ways to go. You could say it's somebody else's fault or you take responsibility, accountability for what your job is within that ball game and I think we had a lot of guys who want to take responsibility and be accountable for what they did or didn't do in the game and Rob is certainly one of them. I think we have a number of players who have the same approach, a number of really good players who have the same approach said the same kind of thing to me today."

Yup. To say that our defense wouldn't have a bad game all year without a full off season is ridiculous.

We'll bounce back defensively and crush the Seahags. As far as the offense goes yes, but not as well as the defense will. Our offensive line is up and down week after week, and Tony needs to play better.

This team is inconsistent for the most part on offense and special teams. Our defense is the least of our problems.

The defense has played well, but it has also allowed detroit, the jets and the pats to walk down the field at its leisure and score points in the 4th qtr.

it has been no where near as bad as the offense, not even close but it is not as spectacular as it looks.

this team has problems.

Rob Ryans defense cost us a game.

Jason Garretts offense has cost us 3.

If Garrett's QB hadnt turned the ball over so much, it'd be one at the most.

But these are all team losses. the Lions and Patriots games the offense did have a lead and the defense gave up a game winning TD at the end. Romo had too many turnovers in the jets and Lions games, but the blocked punt for TD in the Jets game was a big mistake that hurt us too.

The defense played awful vs Philly, but the offense wasnt any better.

Are you counting this last one? Because even if Ryan's defense had played well again, we still wouldn't have won with that offensive performance.

If our offense keeps putting the D in bad spots, expect to see more of the same. Our D is usually very very good They had an off game in Philly. It happens, but they've been top 5 in the league all year.

The offense didnt put them in a bad position at the end of the Pats game though, and in the Lions game they did have a short field but the defense allowed a TD instead of a FG. Just giving up the FG in either game would have extended the game.

Again I dont think its worth blaming one side or the other. The wins have been team wins, the losses have been team losses.

You mean we wouldn’t have won the game with the offensive scoring 7 total points? Ahh, fuck it...let’s just put it all on the defense anyways!

With how awful Philly's run D has been all season (including single-handedly resurrecting Frank Gore's career), I think it's pretty clear that we should not have abandoned the run so early. Still don't understand how Miles, Dez and Witten were not more involved either. The offense has major coaching issues.

Team wins and team losses, indeed. I agree. However, the D hasn't been as bad as some are suggesting. They've played very well.

Giving the ball to Brady with 3 minutes left and a TD wins the game is a bad spot though, no matter who the opponent is.

The D has been really good most of the time. There's been a few lapses (like the end of the Detroit and New England games) and the one clunker (Philly) but overall they have been solid.

The offense's problems are two-fold 1) The OL has been kind of a musical chair situation at one G spot, and we are breaking in alot of inexperience at RT and C and 2) Romo has been mediocre to poor more than he has been really good, and thats tough for the offense constructed the way it is to overcome. Some of it may be the injury, but whatever it is he is not the same player he was. He's had some good moments, but he's had too many bad ones.
