Asking what Dallas should do with Romo after the season. Right now almost half of the nearly 200k polled believe the Cowboys should trade or release Romo and start over at QB. The other two choices were keep Romo but reduce his role in the offense, or keep things as they are. Those two were nearly even.

Obviously they cant get rid of Romo now because of his contract, but it was a legit option this past offseason. A forward thinking franchise probably would have done the smart thing and put Romo on the trade market, got all they could for him and thus have extra draft picks plus the cap space. Instead Jones broke the bank to keep him, and now it appears he is physically breaking down and we're stuck with him for at least another 2-3 seasons, minimum.

If Romo were getting us to the playoffs every year and didn't have a track record of 1) not getting the playoffs and 2) losing big in almost every big game situation he's been in for years) then thinking about moving on from him wouldn't even be a consideration. But the fact he he's been to the playoffs twice since 2007 and he's won one playoff game in his career.
