Instant Analysis: Tony Romo was at his best when it was winning time

ARLINGTON - Say hello to a four-game winning streak. The Cowboys continued their winning ways Thursday, defeating the Dolphins 20-19. Winning the games you are supposed to win, that's what Dallas continues to do, cracking that playoff door open a little more with each victory.

Here are my five thoughts on Thursday's win over a Miami team that had won their previous three.

1.) Make sure you buckle your seatbelt if you want to ride the Romocoaster. After throwing two interceptions on his first five passes, Tony Romo bounced back to toss two touchdowns and lead a solid game-winning drive with Dallas down 19-17. He was at his best when the Cowboys needed to answer a Miami score and that's what's important. When it was winning time, Romo delivered.

2.) Laurent Robinson continues to play at an All-Pro level. It's somewhat hard to believe that a free agent receiver can come in and have the impact that he has over the last five games. During that time, Robinson has been the Cowboys' top receiving threat and most reliable red zone target. Thursday's two-touchdown performance gives the 26-year-old seven touchdown catches over the last five games. Is Jerry Jones already working on a long-term contract?

3.) This secondary can make it difficult to digest a Thanksgiving dinner. Whether it was poor coverage during a few key situations or some costly penalties, the Cowboys safeties and corners gave the Dolphins life on several occasions. Miami's lone touchdown drive came courtesy of a poor defensive play on Alan Ball on third down and Terence Newman's inability to prevent a touchdown despite committing one of the more aggressive pass interference penalties of this NFL season. Larry Fitzgerald could be in for a career day in Week 13.

4.) On this day, Cowboys fans should be thankful for DeMarco Murray's ability to hang on to the football. While Murray was a dependable workhorse again, his ball security is what helped the Cowboys get in position for the game-winning field goal. Murray finished with 87 yards on 22 carries. There's no way that the Cowboys are 7-4 without him.

5.) Oh, just another game-winning field goal from the rookie. Dan Bailey certainly made it look easy Thursday, kicking his third game-winner this season and second in as many games. It sure makes it easy on Jason Garrett, knowing he has a steady kicker at his disposal. Garrett's coaching style equates to a lot of close games, so Bailey definitely helps in that regard.

I disagree with this completely.

Garretts coaching style seems to be uber aggressive. He just doesn't have an Oline, or defense to allow for his style to be effective.

Phill Simms gave him that retarded Iron award, right?

Not sure.. i never stick around to watch that crap, ha. At the end of the game i know the announcers were saying he should win it though.

If i were giving it it woulda been Romo, mayybe Robinson if Romo didn't get it.

It was definitely Robinson in my mind. Outside of a couple drops, he bailed Romo out today.

That makes no sense. But okay...

Ware really had a pretty good game. He did prevent the one TD by getting back on the Fins RB in the endzone. he tied up alot of blockers constantly on pass downs. He drew a hold on a play he would have had a sure sack on, and he had the key fumble recovery on the bad snap. He also should have had his 15th sack of the yr, but the refs suck dick and threw a b/s flag.

Bailey is the man. 4 game winning kicks now, and dont forget he also nailed a 48 yd FG to tie the game vs SF to go to OT.

I don't see how he did. If Moore puts a little more touch on that pass, it's a TD. Ware was nowhere near being able to prevent that pass from being completed.

Ware got it because he's a big name on the Cowboys. He didn't do more to help get this win than Romo or Robinson.

Ware did jam Bush as he was leaking out..that was the difference between the TD and the incompletion..

At the end of the game when we need to drive down the field to get in scoring position Romo comes through 99% of the time.
