He's going to draft a corner in round one.

The 9'ers secondary has been playing really well, and have 3 interceptions (I think. Might be 2).

Jerry will ignore how the 9'ers got there... by dominating in the trenches.

He'll see the interceptions and it'll sell him on a corner in round one.

Even on that last Saint TD, Chris Culliver had pretty good coverage. It was just a great throw.

Yeah. I'm kind of dreading this draft. Always the shiny object with Jones. The 49ers spent their two 1st round draft picks in the same draft on OL, and look how it's paying dividends.

everyone keeps bringing this up and acts like it is a direct correlation to the niners success...and its not..its their defense, not their offensive line that is directly correlated to their success this season.

with all that being said, do not let me confuse you...I am ALL for drafting DeCastro at 14 if he is available

Niners have a great Defense. Really like watching those guys play.

They do. But it starts with their Dline.

Don't get me wrong, that secondary is great. But that Dline mauled a VERY good offensive line today.

I wish Spears was half the player Justin Smith is.

And isn't Justin Smith a testament to how important coaching is in the NFL?

Wasn't he an under performing draft pick for the Bengals? I don't care enough to look it up. But today he looked like an All Pro.

It's a process.

No. It used to be. Teams turn it around in a hurry nowadays.

I think that was a given even before today. We got the OL last year and this year is all CB.

what do we do when DeCastro, Claiborne, and Kirkpatrick are taken come our pick?

I would say Claiborne has 0 chance of being there at 14. If he makes it to pick 10 I'd be shocked.

Right now my best guess is we are DeCastro/Kirkpatrick/Upshaw/Ingram. We don't do a very good job of hiding our (1st round) draft intentions so we will all have a better feel for this pick in about 2 months.

No question the seconday needs an upgrade... However Dallas needs more disruptive forces on the defensive line/OLBers.

The problem with the secondary is Jerruh failed to acquire and draft the structure that needs to have already been in there. And as far as the team, that's the overall problem, there are a few good players mixed in with a bunch of players and coaches that just don't have what it takes to be the Patriots or 49'ers, New Orleans, the Giants or any of those other playoff teams.

At one time in the Cowboys history (Staubach and Pearson days), great seasons with playoff wins and an occassional Super Bowl appearance was the every year constant. Today, with Jerruh not wanting to "deter his moron mix of control freak psychosis", the team can only expect to fail for 15 more years under Jerruh's GM direction.

Jerry as Owner with all his $cash is the best in the NFL. But Jerruh as GM is worse than Matt Millen (if that's possible). Jerruh in terms of GM, is like Wade Phillips, Norv Turner and all the other coordinators that become Head Coach but are not very good at doing the head coaching job. They are the best at what they do best - Wade at Defensive Coordinator and Norv at Offensive Coordinator. With Wade withdrawing from the Tampa HC position, maybe Wade has finally learned that. If only Jerry could fire Jerruh GM and just be Jerry the Owner and hire an NFL GM, maybe the Cowboys could become great again. But, until then, expect more comedy shows from JERRUH THE CLOWN.

Hate to break it to you, but if a CB is the best player on the board when we pick, there's nothing wrong with taking one. Other than Jenkins, we're weak there.
