IRVING, Texas -- Bruce Carter (@BruceCarter54) tweeted Tuesday night he will be active Sunday at Philadelphia, which would require the Cowboys to make a roster move to get the rookie linebacker on the 53-man roster.

Carter is in his second week of a possible three-week run of practice with a roster exemption because he had been on the non-football injury list with a knee injury suffered last year at North Carolina. On Monday coach Jason Garrett said a decision had not been made on whether to activate Carter or not. If that happens the Cowboys would wait until later in the week to make the move.

So who would be the candidates to be let go should Carter get the call? In no particular order:

Running back Tashard Choice – He has struggled this year and the emergence of DeMarco Murray and Phillip Tanner make him a prime contender. Felix Jones’ ankle injury could save him.

Kicker David Buehler – He has not kicked since the second game of the season and Dan Bailey has not missed a field goal and his kickoffs have been better than expected. Buehler has kicked the last two weeks but he is more of a luxury than necessity at the moment.

Wide receiver Jesse Holley – He has not caught a pass since the San Francisco game, which suggests the team does not believe he can be a regular wide receiver. He is a special teams’ regular, however, and is second on the team with nine tackles.

Wide receiver Kevin Ogletree – He lost his No. 3 receiver job to Laurent Robinson. Dez Bryant is the punt returner. Ogletree handled kick returns last week and is a part-time special teamer.
