He's the one guy in the draft that I really, really, really want us to add to the team.

We could go Brockers, DeCastro, Upshaw, Perry, Kirkpatrick, or any other of the names that have been associated to us (except maybe Jenkins) and I'd be fine with it. I prefer certain guys over others, but I'm not dead nuts sold on any one individual.

But I really want to add Joe Adams to this offense/special teams.

The guy has a gear that no one on our offense has.

He's a ridiculous punt returner as well.

I think Adams will be a Desean Jackson like player, with more versatility (can run more routes/line up in the backfield, etc).

If we don't get this guy, I'll be disappointed with this draft regardless of who else we snag.

Jerry Jones - If you're reading this, this is me standing on the table for Joe Adams, as early as the second round.

I'm no scout, but I am a forum administrator, so that has to carry some weight.

Joe Adams immediately boosts the return game and would be a nightmare match-up in the slot. It would be hard to pass on him if he's still there in the 3rd.

:like

But he won't be there in the third. I'm thinking after he runs at the combine, he'll be a 2nd rounder.

Sounds like you needle executive email address of the cowboys and you need to get some game tape together for the team they may not have heard of them.

Do you have ciskowskis email?

That's a lot of work.

How about if the Cowboys draft the guy, you just tell people that I scouted every reception of his, and forwarded the team my reports.

I really like this guy, too. And was hoping we'd snag him when his stock was still around a 5th rounder. But he's rising fast, and as much as I like him, I wouldn't want to spend a 2nd or 3rd on him. I could be talked into a 4th, but he'll never be there. We just have too many holes to spend a premium pick on another WR, unless he's a can't miss, once a generation guy. And as much as I like him, he's not that. No 2nd-3rd rounder is.

But you have to look at what kind of impact he'll have on defenses.

I mean, I honestly think he'll be a Devin Hester-ish like punt returner. I think he'll be versatile enough on offense to line up in the slot, go in motion, line up wide outside, in the backfield, etc.

He's like Desean Jackson without the knuckleheadedness. Like Darren Sproles but with more size/versatility.

Mind you, I'm hoping we address some needs in free agency. We have holes.

But if you go into the draft wanting to draft the best football player available, then I really think a case can be made that Joe Adams is worth a later 2nd rounder.

Well, I'm certainly not going to slit my wrists if we do end up drafting him. I like him a lot. I just think there are more pressing needs to use those premium picks (1-3) on.

If we signed Nicks, took a corner in the first, and resigned Spencer... would you be okay with Adams at 45?

No. I'd love Nicks, hate the first round corner, and not really like resigning Spencer. Depending on what we paid him, I guess.

Give me Nicks, and a corner or two in FA. Somebody like Brockers/Ingram/Upshaw in the first for the defense. Re-sign Spencer to a team friendly deal, and you can have your pet cat at 45. Mmmkay?

And I'll only agree to this because I'm a homer for Adams too, and I'm easy. :awkward

I don't know how much value Joe Adams would add to the offense. We don't traditionally employ a slot-type receiver and I don't think Joe Adams is the next Devin Hester as a return specialist.

His separation on after the hurdle is flat out impressive.

But a 2nd rounder is probably too much to spend on a WR right now. Granted, the PR and KR aspects are appealing and would increase the value of the pick but I just think the 1st two picks absolutely have to to go to the OL and the secondary. Regardless of what Dallas does in Free Agency, they have to get a quality OL and a quality DB. I'd spend a 3rd on a WR/PR but I dunno who.

Is this guy gonna be just a PR or can he actually play WR?

Another thing about Adams I was unaware of. He had a stroke two years ago. Something to keep in mind.
