Raiders defensive backs Nnamdi Asomugha and Michael Huff have been mentioned as free agent possibilities for the Cowboys for a while now, but there are other guys from the Golden State who could help.
So, on the day that the greatness of In-N-Out Burger debuted in DFW, let's consider some other potential transfers from California.
RFA Eric Weddle, S, San Diego - Perhaps the best safety in this free agent class, Weddle has the ability to move into man coverage against receivers, and has experience as a center fielder. If a salary cap system returns and he becomes unrestricted, Weddle's contract could break the record for safety pay.
RFA Dashon Goldson, S, San Francisco - A true free safety, Goldson didn't have his best season in 2010, totaling only one interception, but he has great size for the position (6-2, 200), has been a starter the past two years and could come at a relative bargain compared to some of the other safeties who could be available. He had four picks and three forced fumbles in 2009.
UFA Robert Gallery, G, Oakland - In a career path similar to that of the Cowboys' Leonard Davis, Gallery was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2004 draft. He was disappointing as a left tackle but has moved inside to guard and enjoyed more success. He and the Raiders disagree on his value, however, so he could be looking for a contract similar to that of Davis' as well.
RFA Manny Lawson, OLB, San Francisco - Though Anthony Spencer has shown flashes of brilliance, he hasn't supplied a consistent pass rush in his career, which could lead the Cowboys to pursue a third-down specialist. Lawson hasn't been dominant either, with only 9.0 sacks in the past two years, but may be more effective in a platoon.
UFA Aubrayo Franklin, DL, San Francisco - A massive run-stuffer at nose tackle, acquiring Franklin would allow the Cowboys to again consider a position change for Jay Ratliff. However, they don't seem to believe he would be better as a defensive end.
