Matt Mosley, contributor to SportsDayDFW.com and columnist for Texas Monthly, answered your questions in a live chat Friday. Here are some highlights.

Seems like everyone agrees Romo is gone, so: How "should" he be remembered for his time in Dallas?

Matt Mosley: He had a great run. He'll be defined in some ways by what he wasn't able to accomplish, but he'll join some good ones in Dandy Don and Danny White on that list. Romo helped keep the franchise relevant after a long run of bad QBs. He was a borderline elite QB for several years. And he may go win big somewhere else. He just had the misfortune of getting hurt when the Cowboys had an uncommon rookie QB on the bench. History will be very kind to Romo. White would be more beloved if he'd stuck around Dallas. I like Danny a lot, but he's not a warm sort of personality like what Romo will be in the coming years. Romo will retire here and likely do some type of broadcasting. It will suit him well since he was fascinated with the media when he first arrived in the league. The guy was reading William Nack at his locker. He was meant to end up in the media.

If DeMarcus Ware would only be a situational pass rusher for Dallas if he returned, why bother? Can't -- shouldn't -- those snaps go to someone who will be part of the team long-term?

Matt Mosley: If there's a chance he still has elite ability, you'd give it a shot. But Jerry likes to talk about "progress stoppers." My guess is that he won't go that direction. He'll try to roll with young players. I'd keep an eye on Lawrence's injury history. Starting to become a bit of a concern.

Report that Cowboys might deal Alfred Morris? Is this a smart move and what do you think they could get for him?

Matt Mosley: Nothing more than a sixth or seventh-round pick, I'd say.
