Gavin "Pablo" Escobar. Breakout game today vs. the Giants or not? This is what they signed him for and it was really good to see them calling his number multiple times today.

Thoughts?

Good guy to have behind an aging great. Both touchdowns were good catches, but that second touchdown was impressive. Even without the hit that was coming he did a good job of stretching for an over the should grab.

Dallas is now the "pick your poison" offense it was in the 90s.

Load up to stop 29? 89 kills ya.
Double up on 88? 83 kills ya.
Single cover 88? 88 kills ya.
Forget about 82? 82 kills ya.
Get paranoid over all the long balls, complete or not? 29 is rumbling in your secondary.
Blitz 9? He spins away and kills ya throwing to 88, 82, 83, 89 or even frikkin 29 outta the backfield.

It's got to be a defensive coordinator's worst nightmare right now.

Always liked the player, just wished we'd have done more to utilize him. Seems they have made a concerted effort last two games to get him some looks and I love his ability to be a mismatch downfield in the seams.

He may not have track speed but he is athletic, is a long strider with long wingspan and has great hands. He's a weapon.

Escobar ... he made some good catches today. Nice to see him contribute something.

The only problem that I have with Escobar is that the team has gotten very little production out of him after using a second round pick on him. It is not his fault at all, but any other position drafted in the second would have been starting . Drafting a TE in the second while Witten is still playing, us a waste of resources. It looks like he will be a good TE one day and that looks good for the future.

Talent as a pass catcher was never the question, it was his blocking and sitting behind HOFer Jason Witten that made the pick retarded.

The dude can play.

What's funny is, they finally used him like so many of us have said -- you don't necessarily have to make him your next Witten, your everydown TE, just use his height and good hands in the red zone.

Kind of like how so many of us called for more running to balance out the offense and help Romo.

Sometimes we laymen aren't that stupid after all.

and he has gotten bigger. His arms were scrawny by NFL standards. He is stronger. It should help ease the transition from our Hall of Famer.

If this guy becomes a legit mid to deep middle of the field weapon, watch out. This could be the best offense in the league. Seems like his blocking has gotten better, and if we don't have to take him out for the run game, that high pick will start paying off.

Still think we could have gotten better value there, but it's better than getting no value.

I'd love a better option at fullback, even if it is only for a few plays a game. Clutts is a zero.

But this is small issue, low priority. This offense is rolling.

That was my opinion as well, but his blocking seems to have improved some. I've seen a number of replays where he got his guy blocked extremely well. Doesn't get many plays per game, but at least it seems he is improving some.
