The Houston Chronicle reports that according to a person with knowledge of the decision, the Texans have hired Dallas Cowboys assistant coach Reggie Herring to coach their linebackers.

Jenny Engel and Randy Galloway do a video show every week for the Star-Telegram. This past week they made the accusation that coaches don't want to come here. That we offered contracts to both Fangio and Manusky and they declined.

Actually it was more Galloway making this accusation but Jen Jen went along with it.

I sent an email to see if they would confirm this is true or was that just schtick for the show. Still waiting on a response.

Wonderful, pretty soon we will be right there with crazy Al, none will want to coach here with Jerry in charge.

I'd bet dollars to donuts we simply didn't offer Fangio or Manusky a contract.

Garrett has taken his time with his hires. Hell, look how long it has taken him to hire a receivers coach, FFS. You know he'd do his due diligence when it came to hiring a DC.

Yeah I watched it. Neither of them have any proof of that. I've looked at every story I can find on Fangio going to SF and Manusky going to SD, and not one of them ever mentions they turned down an offer to Dallas to go where they did. It just says "interviewed in Dallas"

Well I think it's bullshat. It's why I sent the email for confirmation. I think they're spinning routine interviews into contract offers.

Nobody wants to coach here yet we landed a well regarded coordinator for the defense. A guy who could be considered a hot commodity right now with the success of his brother. And a guy who the Eagles were reportedly interested in.
