In it he states that Joe Montana was the highest rated player on their board when they were on the clock in the 3rd round. They decided not to take him because they didn't think he would beat out Glenn Carano as the 3rd QB, and took TE Doug Cosbie instead. The rest, as they say, is history.

He was ahead of his time and was definitely a reason we built a dynasty, but he also was the #1 reason it fell apart. His drafting from 78-87 makes Jerry look almost genius-like.

Ironically his last draft in '88 was his best for over a decade. Irvin, Norton Jr and Hennings was a excellent return.
