The NFL is tricking up Day 2 of this year's draft by inviting retired players to announce their former team's selection in the second round, and the Cowboys will be represented by defensive end Charles Haley.

Haley played for the Cowboys from 1992-96, with his acquisition the final piece of the puzzle to building a team that won three Super Bowls. He also played for San Francisco from 1986-91 and 1998-99, and is the only player in league history to have won five Super Bowl rings.

The 47-year old was a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame this winter, but did not receive enough votes for enshrinement.

Former Cowboys cornerback Aaron Glenn will announce the second round pick for the Houston Texans.

The Cowboys own the eighth pick in Round 2, No. 40 overall.

see America, we really do care about former NFL players. It's these no good players now that are mesing up the game for the fans.

Nice try Owners.

I can't wait for this CBA to be signed.

Love me some Charles Haley but they will need flash cards or an interpreter so we at home can understand.

Maybe he'll go "Rogue" and draft a better player.

lol

I read that a team actually drafted the wrong player once. Their representative at the draft misheard the name and sent in the wrong card. I forget what team it was, but they ended up trading up after that to get the guy they wanted.

Quite the opposite, when I lived in the Bay Area reporters there always talked about how behind the scenes Mr. Haley was brilliant man.

I'm glad he's announcing our pick instead of the Niners...

Nothing to do with intellect. It's the ability to articulate. Seems to me his speech wasn't always the clearest as he spoke in a deep monotone voice with a lisp. A times I found him hard to understand. Maybe that was just me.

I'd pay good money to listen to Emmitt Smith announce the Cowboys drafting Chimdi Chekwa.

Cr, you're terrible at impersonations lol

Emmitt doesn't sound illiterate, he just messes up trying to sound smart.
