RotoWorld--

Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio and ESPN's Chris Mortensen both "hear" that Rex Grossman could end up starting over Donovan McNabb at Dallas on Sunday.
Kelli Johnson of CSN Washington quotes a Redskins team source as saying in response, "I don't think that's true." There had been talk of letting McNabb rest his hamstrings, and Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported that the two quarterbacks split first-team reps in practice last week. Grossman could end up receiving half of the reps again this week, with the starter being decided later in the week.

This would be hillarious.

Seeing McNabb's pudgy face in angst during the sidelines all game would be great.

Now how bad would it be if we make Grossman look like a pro bowler as Santana Moss is the next WR that exposes us?

I could take enjoyment out of that, simply because I know it would cause McNabb pain, and it would inprove our draft pick and ensure us a 4th place schedule next year.

While I'd love for Grossman to start, to see McNabb suffer . . . I'd hate for Grossman to start over McNabb and play like absolute crap, and then have to listen to McNabb get prop'd up by the broadcast team and on sports talk radio for a week.

It'd turn into a "How do you bench a legend like McNabb?!?!?"

I'd rather listen to "Wow, the Redskins should've gone in another direction sooner. McNabb is a fraud."

Didn't Shanahan do this exact same shit at the beginning of the season against us? Flirting with the idea of McNabb not starting/playing. Like who the fuck cares. LOL!!! How pathetic. Bot of our teams in the crapper and he's trying to do shit to think that he will throw the Cowboys off, in hopes of gaining some psychological advantage.

I really think they are just grossly disattisfied with McNabb.

He's played terrible this year.

I wonder if Shannahan really wanted McNabb, or if he was kind of forced on him by Dan Snyder.

I don't think so. I truly think Shanahan wanted McNabb. Him and Allen both, and Allen is notorious for signing old players. They are the ones that cut Campbell. Shanahan thought that he could duplicate what he had with Elway.

I still think the skins giving McNabb a huge extension is just one, long-standing hoax. My mind still can't process the thought.

Kelli Johnson of CSN Washington is reporting that Rex Grossman will start over Donovan McNabb at Dallas on Sunday.

Per Johnson, the Redskins' locker room is divided and some players are "extremely upset." Essentially, offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan lied through his teeth Thursday when he denied that Grossman's snaps have increased. Kyle has never been won over by McNabb, bothered by his scattershot accuracy and uneven grip on the offense. While that is understandable, it's unfathomable to us that the Shanahans believe Grossman gives their team a better chance to win. Quite simply, he doesn't.

Looks like a train wreck.

But he'll probably look like a pro bowler on Sunday.

I hope he does look good . . . but I hope we win the game.

And hopefully they'll show McNabbs puffy, pouty face after every Grossman completion.

To start Grossman over McNabb, one players told me, "the guys in the locker room are extremely pissed." Not a good scene in DC at all...

------

Why would the guys in the locker room be pissed?

Are they really satisfied with the QB play they've received this year?

Jesus. Apparently McNabb isn't even the backup QB. John Beck will backup Grossman.

I just reheard the Shanahan blurb. It sounds like this week McNabb will be the backup but the last two weeks of the season John Beck will be the backup.
