Although Green Bay head coach Mike McCarthy did his best to project confidence about the future of the team's wide receivers corps at a recent media gathering, people within the organization told Pro Football Weekly that the departure of position coach Jimmy Robinson was a significant loss.

Robinson, of course, is now with the Cowboys and is charged with overseeing the team's group of wideouts. Earlier this month, receiver Dez Bryant, who showed flashes of brilliance last season as a rookie, said he was excited to work with Robinson.

"He just left a group of receivers I think highly of -- Donald Driver, Greg Jennings and Jordy Nelson," Bryant said. "The way they run routes and the way they catch the ball is so precise. And I know he had a lot to do with that."

Apparently, that's an opinion shared by several former colleagues of Robinson. Here's more from Pro Football Weekly:

  • [T]eam insiders believe [Edgar] Bennett, in particular, will have a very tough act to follow in Jimmy Robinson, who left for a position on Jason Garrett's staff in Dallas. Robinson, who commanded great respect as a former NFL receiver, is widely considered to be the best WR coach in the business. While Bennett could not be more eager to prove himself in his new role, the consensus seems to be that he definitely will have his work cut out for him.

Well they can't possibly like it.

You just won a championship. It seems every WR on your roster produces when he sees the field. Just from a don't rock the boat aspect, you have to hate to lose him.
