On how to fix the Cowboys:
Carlton: I think one of the things that comes to mind … with the way the league has changed right now, they need to do something with the secondary. They need to get at least two solid corners in the there in the draft. And then everybody’s going to point to [Rob] Ryan and what you do with the defense. Did he have time in the offseason to really implement what he wanted to do? The answer is no. But at the same time, sombody’s got to be sacrificed. The Cowboys thought this was a playoff team. Jerry thought it was a playoff team.
Gosselin: I’d fire the GM. Most general managers in this league get two coaching hires, and you better get it right. Scott Pioli in Kansas City’s going to make his second coaching hire, and if he doesn’t get this one right, he’s going to get fired. … Jerry has now hired seven coaches, and if Garrett doesn’t work out, in two years he’ll be hiring an eighth coach. You don’t get eight coaches. If you’re not winning with eight coaches, you’re the problem. The problem that we have is that Jerry is not going to fire himself. He likes being the owner, the general manager, the president, and all the titles. It’s a vicious little circle we’ve got going here where the Cowboys aren’t competing and the GM is the problem
