On how to fix the Cowboys:

Carlton: I think one of the things that comes to mind … with the way the league has changed right now, they need to do something with the secondary. They need to get at least two solid corners in the there in the draft. And then everybody’s going to point to [Rob] Ryan and what you do with the defense. Did he have time in the offseason to really implement what he wanted to do? The answer is no. But at the same time, sombody’s got to be sacrificed. The Cowboys thought this was a playoff team. Jerry thought it was a playoff team.

Gosselin: I’d fire the GM. Most general managers in this league get two coaching hires, and you better get it right. Scott Pioli in Kansas City’s going to make his second coaching hire, and if he doesn’t get this one right, he’s going to get fired. … Jerry has now hired seven coaches, and if Garrett doesn’t work out, in two years he’ll be hiring an eighth coach. You don’t get eight coaches. If you’re not winning with eight coaches, you’re the problem. The problem that we have is that Jerry is not going to fire himself. He likes being the owner, the general manager, the president, and all the titles. It’s a vicious little circle we’ve got going here where the Cowboys aren’t competing and the GM is the problem

I will say that he did win with one (okay two) of those coaches.

But yeah, it's like one of those things that's the elephant in the room. Everyone knows the real problem with this team, but there's nothing that can be done about that, except for Jerry to have some epitome. This has been said since the jettison of Jimmy, and it doesn't appear any amount of fan/media pressure is going to change what he wants to do.

The only thing I think that would ever change him would be being ignored. Just like he was in the early 2000s. The team was a joke, nobody gave a damn about this organization nationally.....we were just laughed at.

Meanwhile Jerry and campo are doing hard knocks actinglike rock stars and talking about championsips.

It just got worse during the year, no one even really cared what Jerry did because the team was awful. Jerry actually thought he did a great thing when he traded up and got that useless piece of shit in Quincy Carter.

I think it dawned on him at some point that year no one cared. Interest was slipping and the team was horrendous.

Jerry says parcells called him to talk and he did. All of a sudden Jerry was getting a huge positive reaction nationally when it was talked about him and parcells could work with him

The man loves to be on tv and on the radio, he will take 10 years of critiscm if It leads to one year of glory, een if we don't accomplish anything....like 07.

Needing good vibes in the community to get a stadium built didn't hurt either.

All that is done now. The guy will never ask for help again because him, his two sons and his daughter are running everything. A gm being hired would have no real duties here because of what Stephen, Jerry jr and Tom ciskowski do.

Now he could fire ciskowski, which I think should be done yesterday and hire a new coach and let him hire his own staff. But I think Garrett has that control now anyway.

So basically the best that we can hope for is fo Garrett to bring in a really good group of coaches this offseason and hopefully making changes in the scouting department, because they fucking suck every bit as bad as Jerry.

I was listening to espn 1033 for a second earlier and I happen to catch them talking about organizing an occupy valley ranch rally to get jerry's attention!

morons. there are probably enough people here that hate him to do it though.

even still, if jerry hired a gm tomorrow morning espn 103.3 would just switch to complaining about which one he hired.

If anyone organized an Occupy Valley Ranch, Jerry would just have people go out there and sell them $8 beer and hot dogs.

It'll have to get really bad before Jerry does anything "drastic" again, like repeating the rock bottom fall of the Campo years.

As long as he puts butts in seats in the new stadium, he wont see any reason to change anything. If the day comes when there are 10's of thousands of empty seats there consistently, he might do something different again.
