NFL | Looking to move offseason activities back

The NFL is proposing moving the NFL Scouting Combine to early March, the start of free agency to early April and the draft to early May to make sure football is relevant during a longer offseason period. The NFL will need approval from the NFL Players Association before making any changes. The NFL would also like all teams to begin training camp on the same day.

Why in the world would we do that? He just needs to leave well enough alone. I really hope this doesn't happen.

He already fucked up the draft as it is.

They claimed it was so there was not as much downtime in the offseason, and that it make money for the league by spreading stuff out further.

The only positive I see is that for many years scouts have thought if the combine was moved back players might be more apt to workout, rather than skip all or part of the workouts and only do stuff at their pro days.

I don't like this but I understand it. I just happen to think that sports need legitimate off-seasons so they can go away and be missed.

Goodell is a car mechanic when you need an oil change. "We need to replace your air filter, Serpentine belt. You need a transmission flush and an engine overhaul. While you're here, might as well get four new tires."

Seriously, it's the offseason. If you feel the need to make the "offseason" relevant, you shouldn't have an offseason.

Uhh... the draft would happen in May if this happens. That's close to earlier, but even closer to later.
