MOCK DRAFT

Last Updated on Sunday, April 17th, 2011.

1 Carolina CAM NEWTON*** QB
The Panthers have many needs, but they seem ready to take the huge gamble on Newton because if they hit on him they could have a superstar to lead them back to the playoffs.

2 Denver NICK FAIRLEY*** DT
The Broncos think about Gabbert, but decide to grab the most explosive and athletic interior DT in the draft and put concerns some have to the side in order to get sich an elite talent.

3 Buffalo BLAINE GABBERT*** QB
Despite rumors that the Bills are going to pass on a QB in the 1st round, we think this could well be smoke screen and Gabbert's combo of athleticism and arm strength would be an ideal fit under Coach Gailey.

4 Cincinnati A.J. GREEN*** WR
The Bengals have a number of needs, but Green gives them an elite offensive weapon who should open up their offense and allow give a very talented player to try and sell Carson Palmer on to get him to play for them again.

5 Arizona ANTHONY CASTONZO OT
There is little doubt that Arizona needs to find a QB, but with Gabbert gone they decide to get the elite OT who can protect whichever QB they trade-for/sign.

6 Cleveland MARCELL DAREUS*** DT
With the Browns moving back to a 43 defense they need to find more DL to be effective and Dareus would be a very good fit playing next to the huge A. Rubin.

7 San Francisco RYAN MALLETT*** QB
Many believe SF will not draft a QB if Gabbert is gone, but we have a feeling that after Mallett's throwing exhibition at his Pro Day and his impressive meetings with teams that they will feel comfortable grabbing him here.

8 Tennessee COREY LIUGET*** DT
Tennessee's defense has not been the same since losing A. Haynesworth and Liuget is an elite athlete with excellent explosiveness, strength and speed, which will enable him to become a very good DT in the NFL.

9 Dallas TYRON SMITH*** OT
The Cowboys' need to keep Tony Romo from taking the punishment he has taken in recent seasons and Smith has the size, strength and athleticism to become a very good starter early in his career.

10 Washington JAKE LOCKER QB
This is definitely high for Locker, but it is impossible to predict trades so we think that Shanahan would grab Locker here as Locker has the elite athleticism and arm strength that he loves.

11 Houston VON MILLER OLB
The Texans switch to a 34 defense is made easier when Von Miller slides all the way to them at # 11. He bringes the edge pass russ that is needed for a 34 defense to florish.

12 Minnesota PATRICK PETERSON*** CB
The Vikings no doubt need a QB, but with no QB's left that are Top 15 picks they turn to Peterson who is one of the elite players in the draft and would sure up their secondary.

13 Detroit DA'QUAN BOWERS*** DE
Despite so many conflicting rumors about the health of Bowers knee, the Lions cannot pass up the chance to add a player who would have been a Top 2 pick if there were no questions about his knee.

14 St. Louis JULIO JONES*** WR
After Sam Bradford's strong rookie season, the Rams need to get him some weapons and Jones has the size and athleticism to be an impact, big play receiver for them.

15 Miami MIKE POUNCEY C
While the Dolphins are rumored to be focusing on finding a RB, we believe that they need to really upgrade their OL in order to improve their rushing attack and give Henne more protection.

16 Jacksonville PRINCE AMUKAMARA CB
The Jags did not expect Prince to make it to them and were planning on drafting a DE, but with Prince on the board the Jags jump at the chance to add a very tough and athletic CB.

17 New England (from Oakland) CAMERON JORDAN DE
The Patriots want to add youth to their DL because since they traded R. Seymour their DL has not been as dominant or powerful as they were with him and Jordan combined with Warren and Wilfork could really make their DL a top unit again.

18 San Diego ALDON SMITH*** OLB
Despite having a top statistical defense in 2010, the Chargers really struggled to consistently pressure the QB and Smith would give them an explosive and athletic edge rusher for their 34 defense.

19 New York Giants STEPHEN PAEA DT
The Giants have a lot of talent at DE, but need to improve their play-making ability from the DT spot if their defense is going to get the consistent pressure on the QB that they did when they won the Super Bowl.

20 Tampa Bay ROBERT QUINN*** DE
Despite Quinn not always playing with great intensity/passion, his raw talent and good intangibles make him a player that the Bucs would take a gamble on because they want to improve their outside pass rush.

21 Kansas City JABAAL SHEARD OLB
The Chiefs defense made big strides in 2010, but they still need to improve their pass rush and Sheard would be a very good compliment playing opposite T. Hali as an OLB in their 34 scheme.

22 Indianapolis GABE CARIMI OT
Carimi is not an elite athlete, but he is a solid athlete with good technique, excellent toughnes, intensity and competitiveness and would give Indy the best LT they have had in a number of years.

23 Philadelphia DEREK SHERROD OT
Philadelphia needs to upgrade their OL (Both at RT and RG) and Sherrod has the athleticism, height and long arms to protect the corner and give M. Vick a good pocket to work from.

24 New Orleans PATRICK KERRIGAN DE
The Saints need to improve their pass rush and the chance to draft Kerrigan makes perfect as he no doubt has the athleticism to play DE, but also plays with great passion and intensity on every snap.

25 Seattle ADRIAN CLAYBORN DE
Seattle had success using the 300 pound Red Bryant at DE in their scheme and Clayborn would provide some quicks and athleticism that Bryant does not bring to the position.

26 Baltimore JIMMY SMITH CB
CB is not a big need for the Ravens, but they have long shown a willingness to jump on very talented players who have some off-field concerns when they get the chance.

27 Atlanta RANDALL COBB*** WR
With Roddy White already a star, they need another WR who can make big plays and Cobb has the ability to change games as a receiver and returner.

28 New England DANNY WATKINS OG
The Pats hit a home run when they drafted Fresno State OT L. Mankins and switched him to OG, so they try the same thing with Watkins who played OT at Baylor and will play OG in the NFL.

29 Chicago NATE SOLDER OT
The Bears OL needs help and while Solder is very raw, he has the physical talent, toughness and intangibles to make him an excellent gamble at the end of the 1st round because he has the talent to become a special OT in time.

30 New York Jets CAMERON HEYWARD DE
The Jets DL is definitely getting older and could use an infusion of youth and Heyward has the size, strength and athleticism to be a very strong and physical DE in the Jets 34 scheme.

31 Pittsburgh J.J. WATT*** DE
The Steelers drafted Z. Hood a few years ago to bring youth to their DL, but they still need to add more young, talented DL and Watt has the physical talent, character and intangibles to fit in ideally with the Steelers' defensive scheme.

32 Green Bay AKEEM AYERS*** OLB
The Packers defense has made great strides in recent seasons and the addition of Ayers would give them a versatile book-end OLB to play opposite C. Matthews.

In no way shape or form do I see Petersen falling to #12. I don't think he could slip from Jerry's clutch if he is sitting there at #9. The Rams would have a shat eating grin if Julio Jones is to be had # 14.

This asshole is just trying to shock and awe people and have his mock stand out from the rest. The idea of mocks these days is to avoid being cookie-cutter and try instead to be as ridiculous as possible in order to stand out.
