http://www.cowboysportsblog.com/app...cowboys-pioneer-predicts-an-interesting-trade

Gil Brandt is probably the only writer at NFL.com who knows anything about anything about the Dallas cowboys. In a recent post concerning the upcoming trade deadline, he mentioned the Cowboys, the team he used to manage, generally.

"If the Eagles don't do my proposed deal with New England, they still need to find a way to improve defensively. Philadelphia has already proven the organization isn't afraid to deal with a division foe, so this time, the Eagles turn to Dallas for help.A deal of Rodgers-Cromartie for Bradie James helps both teams. The Eagles fill a void at linebacker. The Cowboys would get a necessary upgrade at corner and will soon have second-round pick Bruce Carter healthy and capable of stepping in for James." - Gil Brandt, Former Cowboys GM

Before you write this off as crazy, the Eagles don't like Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and he's their third corner. They have even tried him at safety and he's been a disaster but he can ball, no doubt. It's just that Asante Samuel hasn't declined yet. The Eagles have one of the worst linebacking core in the NFL and Casey Matthews leads that group. He's a third round pick rookie and if he had a different last name, he wouldn't see more than 10 snaps a game. It makes since from those standpoints.

That would be awesome to trade Bradie to the Eagles so he can get them ready for Rob Ryan's defense.

We'd be getting the bad end of that trade in my book. I just don't understand why so many fans have an issue with Bradie James.

Really.?

Brady is old and average there is no way that is the bad end of the deal, he is playing about 20 snaps a game now.

Are you freaking serious? The guy is ALWAYS out of position.

Through 4 games, James has 5 TACKLES, conmpared to Sean Lee with 36. Keith Brookings is the backup ILB and he has nearly double the tackles as James.

Let's see, he never could cover and now doesn't collect very many tackles either. He's useless. That's my issue with him.

You people think Sean Lee is all that? I do as well. He's TOTALEE AWESOME. But the scary thing is that he's not as good as he can be, yet. He's up there having to compensate for James. It's scary to imagine how Lee can be if he had someone that was at least half as competant as himself, playing next to him.

I wouldn't trade a bag o' dicks for DRC, and I don't think he's a fit for this defense, anyway. He's not a significant upgrade over any of our top-three CBs, and if we're looking to replace Newman next year, we're better off doing it in FA or early in the draft.

And trading Bradie means, what, playing Brooking more until we get Bruce ready? No, thanks. I know Bradie's a favorite target of Cowboy fans everywhere, mostly because they fundamentally misunderstand the position he plays. He's always been unable to get deep enough in coverage. That's a huge hole in his game that needs to be covered up. Sideline to sideline he's ok in coverage, though. And he gets up and engages quickly, plays aggressively, and is strong-like-bull in the middle. He's a good player, and only likely to be replaced next year or the year after if we can prove we've got a similar player who's also an upgrade in terms of speed.

You're right, Idgit. Bradie does a great job of directing traffic in the middle allowing everyone but himself to make plays.

I would absolutely trade a bag of dicks for Cromartie, he's an imbecile that can probably play some man coverage (at least better than the bag of dicks I traded for him) and would strengthen our depth a bit.

But this trade seems far-fetched.

Yeah, it probably wouldn't happen, but trading James and starting Carter next year would be ideal.

Carter will need some time to gel. Just like Sean Lee did. As far as Cromartie he would definitely strengthen our corner depth.

You're not being creative enough with all those dicks.

My advice: wrap one in tin foil and sneak it in a buddies' carry-on right before he goes to the airport. That's good shit right there. You can do that, like, 20 times with a big enough bag of dicks.
