The Giants will interview former Atlanta Falcons head coach Mike Smith, a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed to James Kratch of the Newark Star Ledger. The interview was first reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The interview is expected to be conducted on Monday. Smith, 56, would be the Giants' seventh known candidate, and the sixth to have an interview either scheduled or in the process of being scheduled.
Smith went 66-46 with the Falcons from 2008-14, leading the Falcons to the playoffs four times. But Smith's teams were just 1-4 in the postseason, including a wild card playoff loss to the Giants during their 2011 Super Bowl run, and made the NFC Championship game just once despite twice going 13-3 and receiving a first round bye.
