Our country is so fucked. Could you imagine the backlash and outcries from bleeding heart liberals if we did such a thing today?

That is bad ass.

I think I hear Cythim crying right now...

I'm crying because your mom gave me the clap last week and this shit hurts. I'm headed to Canada tomorrow for some cheap meds to take care of it. This is the last time I hit that raw.

The terrorists laugh at us daily, because we've outlawed anything that would get in their way. If World War II were to happen today. We'd all be speaking German by the end.

This is true. War is ugly. War is hell. But we try to fight wars without offending anyone. America is fucked.

Yup, the media watching wars and thus the citizens watching them has made us soft. If WWII was as televised as Nam was, we'd have never won that.

The Rules of Engagement should be if the other side breaks the rules, so can you. Why does war have rules anyway? Stupid. I remember watching 60 Minutes one time and saw a group of Marines get ambushed in an Aghan village. All the sudden the shooting stops and five suspucious looking males all come wandering out of the treeline and walk in the opposite direction. It's obvious it was them, but since they were unarmed the Marines couldn't shoot.

I think it would depend on if we got attacked 1st or if it were just us intervening for the sake of world democracy. Remember how Bush's popularity surged after the 9/11 attacks, and how an extremely isolationist America, pre December 7th, 1941, suddenly became 100% in favor of war?

Invading Iraq and sending troops to help the French in Vietman didn't give every day Americans much incentive to get behind the Government's decision to get involved in those wars.

America has always been a reactionist country, more interested in things at home than outside the US until they get hit in the mouth.

World War II 405,399 American's lost in a four year period, another 670,846 wounded with yet another 30,314 just MIA.

That's 1,076,245 dead in 4 years that died in American uniforms. That war was brutal, it was shocking, and it was won. 599 deaths a day it took, but it was won and the enemy and everyone on the planet knew it.

48,430 dead in Iraq and Afghastan and Obama just declared Iraq over yesterday. No one on the planet believes we won, including the enemy. It was a media war that was so pansy ass I can't even begin to comprehend just how stupid we really are.

Had we have just annihilated the 2 countries then helped them build back, we'd have spent less lives, money, and political fall out by now. But no...

I have to disagree and say we won in Iraq. After Bush declared "Mission Accomplished" terrorists started pouring over from Syria and Iran and caused absolute hell. It seemed like there were twenty bombs going off every day killing two or three troops. Now you hardly hear anything from Iraq because we were able to turn things around. Time will tell what happens there, but it appears to be in a good position.

Yes, but we are pulling out now. Do you really think it's gonna be all roses and flower pots over there when we leave like it was in Germany with the knowledge that if we came back there wouldn't be anything left of that place? Heh...

I don't recall one of the mission objectives being to leave the place smelling like roses and flower pots. Saddam is dead and there are no dangerous WMDs in the nation. Any civil war that may happen after we leave will not be a threat to our national security.

Sad fact: You would be applauding the move if a Republican had been in the White House to make the decision.

Not leaving the way it is, no. What is a sad fact is you believe I'm some guy that pushes the R button just because it's a R in there next to the D.

All you have ever said in this forum involving politics points out that you are "some guy that pushes the R button just because it's a R in there next to the D." I could scrape your opinion off of Rush Limbaugh's zipper.

I could scrape your opinion off of the bathroom floor of an anorexics home, but you seem to only have a sit on the fence opinion that lets you sit back and just judge everyone.

I'm for whomever is against Obama this election. Period. The man is a disgrace.
