If all three Dallas Cowboys running backs are healthy for Saturday's game against Arizona, interim coach Jason Garrett said he wants to ``make sure we give each of them opportunities.''
Felix Jones and Tashard Choice have carried the load for three straight games with Marion Barber sidelined by a calf injury.Barber, who opened the season as the starter, has been practicing this week. Jones, nursing a sore shin, has not practiced. Asked if he expected him to be ready, Garrett said, ``We're certainly hopeful.''
``He did did miss practice today and is really just nicked up from the game and in a short week we just want to make sure he's fresh and ready to go on Saturday night,'' Garrett said.
Over the past four games, Jones has rushed 60 times for 238 yards. Choice carried 19 times for 100 yards against Indianapolis on Dec. 5, and ran for 53 yards on 15 carries against Washington.
If all three are healthy, Garrett said he'd like to spread the ball around to each of them.
``We just want to make sure we give each of them opportunities,'' Garrett said. ``Felix has been the guy who has carried the ball the most this season so I don't see that trend changing. But we want to give Tashard opportunities and we want to see where Marion is physically and if he's ready to go, give him some chances as well.''
