Former Cowboys RB Joseph Randle's death threat to jail deputy came after denied phone call
By SportsDayDFW.com

We now have more details about ex-Cowboys running back Joseph Randle's latest charge of threatening a Kansas jail deputy.

The Wichita Eagle is reporting that an arrest affidavit released Monday claims Randle threatened a Sedgwick County, Kan., jail deputy's life after he was denied a phone call on May 14 while incarcerated.

"I will kill you I swear on my life and everything that I have I will kill you when I get out," Randle repeated several times after being denied a call around 8 p.m., the affidavit says.

The detective writing the affidavit noted "The threat was made in a very aggressive manner by yelling them."

According to the document, Randle was denied the call after turning down a phone opportunity earlier in the day.
Randle, who remains in jail on $50,000 in bonds, according to the Eagle, at one point managed to get arrested six times in an 18-month span.

He was released by the Cowboys in the middle of the 2015 season.

He spent more than a week in jail in February after an arrest on charges of aggravated battery, criminal damage and possession of marijuana.

Police said Randle struck three people with his car on Feb. 21 after getting into an argument at a housewarming party in southeast Wichita.

Also in February, Randle was arrested in Irving on a speeding charge. Police said he was wanted on a charge of speeding in a school zone in Coppell.

Randle's best-known arrest was in October 2014, on charges of shoplifting cologne and underwear from the Dillard's at Stonebriar Mall.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said back in November that the team was concerned about Randle's mental stability even while he was in the doghouse with the team shortly before being cut.

"I'm always concerned as to any issues regarding the [mental] health of a player," Jones said. "It's a lot more serious than the football [injury] and that's why he's not dressed out."

He must be one of the dumbest MFers ever.

The thing is that he actually had some ability and had a perfect set up here to have a nice career and maybe get a decent payday in 2 or 3 yrs. Instead he turns into a grade A buffoon and is out of the league.

They knew what kind of head case they were dealing with, and still handed him the starting job. I've heard several strange stories before the 2015 season began. You have to try to be this bad as a front office.

He's got to have some sort of undiagnosed mental illness.

Nothing Calvil Hill and a 24 hour chaperone can't solve though.
