Using the Seahawks as a guide, try to fix the front 7. We will assume Sean Lee and DeMarcus Ware are coming back, even though many think Ware will be a cap casualty. That leaves 5 spots. You can pick one Free Agent (new or returning), up to 2 draft picks, and the rest must be returning players (Bruce Carter, Tyrone Crawford, etc.) and fix the Front7. As always, try to be realistic.

They line the 1-Tech over the Center outside shade of the A gap. At least in that in particular defense. It pretty much looks like a 3-4 but they shift more.

Traidtional 3-4 lines up the DL over the T and C head up. The 4-3 shades. Its the tell for gap responsibilities. Most of the 1 techniques I have seen for the tampa 2 have him line up in the strongside A gap and angle him at the C where he is supposed to crash and force a double team.

and summer the 3 tech is always on the outside shoulder of the guard. the idea is to force 1v1's.

Do you really think we run a Seahawks type scheme especially with a 5 tech like Bryant and a Sam like Avril? I assume Irvin is a Sam in their scheme now?

I don't think Marinelli ran this in Chicago, did he? I think he is more of a straight up 4-3 instead of some hybrid.

Anyway.....

Leo: DeMarcus Ware
1-Tech: Tyrone Crawford
3-Tech: Dominique Easley
5-Tech: Arthur Jones
Sam: Dee Ford
Mike: Sean Lee
Will: Bruce Carter

Agree, I think we're going to see something more like Indy and Tampa ran for years instead of this. Maybe if we lucked into two big bodies up front they'd do something like this, but right now we don't even have one (unless it's Crawford).

The RDE usually lines up in the B gap to push the ROLB (usually best pass rusher) outside.

There are obviously different variants and certainly Phillips and Ryan did stuff like that but Parcells and old school types used to just man up over the top.

Leo: DeMarcus Ware
1-Tech: Daniel McCullers, (rookie, UT)
3-Tech: Will Sutton (rookie, Arizona)
5-Tech: Tyrone Crawford
Sam: Bruce Carter
Mike: Sean Lee
Will: Devonte Holloway

Edit: I don't know that McCullers is really a fit here. But I like the idea of a huge body eating space in the middle of a DL, no matter the scheme. Plus he's a Vol.
