IRVING -- Five Cowboys were not seen during the early part of practice Monday that the media is allowed to view, including starting safety Gerald Sensabaugh.
Sensabaugh injured his right foot with about 5 minutes to play in the second quarter Sunday against Washington. Sensabaugh was hurt on the Redskins' first-and-goal play from the 6 while tackling running back Roy Helu after a 4-yard gain. Sensabaugh left the game for the remainder of the series but returned late in the first half for Washington's next offensive series.
After the game, Sensabaugh was asked if he'll be ready to play Thursday against Miami with a four-day turnaround to deal with this week.
"I wish I had a normal week dealing with this foot," Sensabaugh said. "It's a quick turnaround. I'll do my best to get treatment on it to make sure I'll be ready. We'll be fine."
Sensabaugh finished with nine tackles against Washington, second on the team behind only linebacker Sean Lee with 10, and a forced fumble and recovered fumble. He's been a key part of the Cowboys' defense all season and, like his counterpart Abram Elam, has yet to even be penalized.
Also not seen at Cowboys' practice Monday was fullback Tony Fiammetta (illness), wide receiver Miles Austin (hamstring), cornerback Mike Jenkins (hamstring) and backup quarterback Jon Kitna (back).
Fiammetta, Jenkins, Austin and Kitna were all inactive for Sunday's game against Washington. Fiammetta has been fighting an illness for the last week and didn't make the trip to Washington. Kitna has a back injury and also didn't travel to Washington. It's unlikely that either Austin or Jenkins plays Thursday against Miami.
