IRVING, Texas -- Maybe Jerry Jones can put Kevin Ogletree vs. Teddy Williams on the undercard the next time he hosts a boxing event at his $1.2 billion stadium.
The reserve receiver and practice squad cornerback had a couple of heated exchanges during the special teams portion of Wednesday’s practice.
Ogletree, who was working as a gunner, took offense to something Williams did and got payback with a late hit after one punt. Williams, who didn’t see the blow coming, went flying to the ground.
Williams gave Ogletree an extra shove a few plays later. The receiver responded by throwing a wild punch with his right hand. Considering that Williams was wearing a helmet, it’s fortunate for Olgetree that his haymaker didn’t connect.
It was a welcome distraction from the media’s regular duties of taking attendance and counting the R-rated words that come out of Joe DeCamillis’ mouth.
As far as attendance goes, here are the players who missed practice: Bradie James (knee), Keith Brooking (foot), Sean Lee (shoulder), Orlando Scandrick (concussion), Gerald Sensabaugh (quad), Marion Barber (calf) and Tony Romo (collarbone).
