Tim Hasselbeck Hasselbeck Likes Cowboys' Chances In 2012

ESPN's Tim Hasselbeck believes that of all the non-playoff teams in 2011, Dallas has the best shot to win it all in 2012

Not that this is all that much of a ringing endorsement or a very bold prediction, but asked which team to miss the playoffs entirely in 2011 has the best shot to win the Super Bowl in 2012, one ESPN analyst picked your Dallas Cowboys.

Tim Hasselbeck was that analyst, and he, like many of the Cowboys’ players, believes that a full offseason could be key in the team improving on an uninspiring performance in 2011.

"Lot of talent on that football team," Hasselbeck said, per ESPN Dallas. "Miles Austin not injured. Defense, another year with Rob Ryan. I think the Cowboys could be that team. ... Dallas Cowboys. Tony Romo. They have the best shot."

To balance things out, the other analyst (and former Philadelphia Eagle), Herm Edwards, selected the Philadelphia Eagles as the non-playoff team with the best shot to win in 2012.

I don't think Philly is a real contender with Vick.

And I don't think Dallas is a real contender because of Jerry.

I think the east is going to be exceptional next year.

Injuries to Philly, Dallas and washing tons qbs changed the season for each team and then each team had other significant injuries like our secondary and ny's linebackers and corners.

If this division is healthy and drafts well this is going to be the best division in the league without question. If the skins get manning or rg3 it is going to be an incredible division.

I think the eagles are held back from Vick also, I think are two solid off seasons away from being the championship contenders we were from 06-09

Oh and hassle back is a terrible analyst. Almost as bad as he was a player.

Sharks to be us.

I think Hasslebeck is good.

why not? the team I watched from October to November would have been the super bowl champs if that streak had hit them in december. It's as good a prediction as any.

I think the problem is, this team has been hyped as being uber talented, and Super Bowl contenders every year since what... 2006 or so? Well, maybe not heading into this year, but virtually every other season.

I think that hype - unwarranted as it is - has led to this team being somewhat content.

Not sure if serious.

Lets recap

October:

Ginger blew a huge lead vs. Detroit. Had a bye week. Then came back and figured punting to Tom Brady would work out perfectly fine on the road. They ended the month by getting shitkicked vs. Philly because ginger panicked and froze after an early deficit.

November:

Two solid wins against shitty teams. And then barely eeked by two other shitty teams.

That's like boss style Super Bowl run right there. :jerkoff

A win is a win we were pretty much the hottest squad in the league outside of Green Bay and Denver.

I don't think Manning will ever be the player he once was. Not enough to help the Redskins in this division. I hope they get him and give up a mint for him.

Me too. Their Oline sucks. Not even Peyton Manning could side-step all those rushes.

I'd say elimination game wins are weighted a bit heavier in the grand scheme of things. In those games last season:

Cowboys: 0-1 (and 1-4 vs. playoff teams overall)
Giants: 5-0

Losing to playoff teams while shitkicking bottom dwellers is a Cowboys specialty during this redballz/Wade era. I know that Miami win gave you and dbair a warm cuddly feeling in the pee pee region after Thanksgiving dinner.

"We r 3 and oh this m0nth, guyz! Garret = Landry."

Mike shanahan logs Vincent Jackson. He is unrestricted.

So if shanahan gets peyton manning and Vincent Jackson they are seriously improved for the first time in a long time.

Reggie Wayne is also unrestricted.

They have already said they want to improve there offense and said they need weapons.

Shanahans running game coupled with mannings passing expertise will make the offense line look much better.

Just like romo made the line that looked awful blocking for Bledsoe look good.

Throw in a vet 1 or 2 wr changes them completely.

seems like there's something you're not getting here.
