I can only imagine the reactions if this were us.

The Eagles fans will be livid over this move.
Me? I give Andy Reid the benefit of the doubt.
I tend to think the results are gonna be laughable.
I can remember several instances of a position coach switching sides of the ball, but I cant think of any instance where a career position coach on one side of the ball was suddenly promoted to run the other side of the ball.
Not saying it cant be done, but I'll be quite surprised if they have an even average defense next yr.
Belichick is a defense coach and his experience on that side of the ball gives him great insight toward helping the offense. He knows how to analyze defenses to give his offense the advantage and he knows how to confuse the defense as well. In terms of creating schemes and calling plays this could be a good move because a good OL coach should know how to find the weaknesses in an OL and how to exploit them. Win the battle on the line and you win the game.
Amazing then that the Eagles were basically the first team ever to name a longtime OL coach as a defensive coordinator. Maybe they'll be a trend setter right?
I dunno. I'm kinda worried about the move... I think it says a lot about the guy as a coach if he's capable of making a switch like that. Guys like Spags, Rivera, and Frazier have a lot of respect for him. I don't think this is gonna be good for us.

There is alot more to calling defensive plays for 11 men on the field than just knowing the supposed weakness of one particular unit. If that's the case, why not simply promote every Oline coach to DC? Better yet, with this logic, I guess this qualifies a Dline coach to be come an OC, because would he not also know the weakness of an DL and be able to exploit them? Win the battle on the line and you win the game...right? If it works for an Oline coach to become a DC, then it should be ok for a Dline coach for OC.
No, none of what you said was right. I used Belichick as an example to say that the move has the potential to work. I am not trying to create some all-encompassing logic that says one type of coach can be substituted as another coach on the opposite side of the ball. It is innovative thinking that could lead to success or failure. One thing that's certain is failure is eminent if the wrong coach is promoted.
In short, you are a moron for attempting to put words in my mouth.
I didn't put words in your mouth. I used your words verbatim and applied the exact same "logic" that you used.
There you have it. It will be a good thing for us, because you also wanted Fisher and thinks that he would be good for us.
