Jones States Dallas Will Only Keep Three RB

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said the team only plans to keep three running backs on the final roster.
Felix Jones and rookie DeMarco Murray are safe, leaving Tashard Choice to battle Lonyae Miller for one spot. Choice has been sidelined by a calf injury, but Miller struggled in the preseason opener. This battle figures to go down to the wire, with the Cowboys likely dangling Choice in trade offers in the meantime.

It'd be a lot cooler if Jerry would let his coach decide how many running backs he wants to keep.

That said... I'm hoping it's Miller over Choice. I like the idea of a big back in our offense.

Miller did not hit the holes quickly in the first game and was brought down rather easily. I was hoping he could be our power back but I am not liking what I've seen from Miller so far.

Miller sucked in the first game. Choice has never looked that bad. Tanner was getting decent production behind the same line. That said Jerrah needs to shut the f... Up, he should have no say in the matter.

I'd go Jones, Murray, and Tanner right now, but I might change my mind before the 53 man roster comes out.

Tanner has played decent, Miller, ehhh, and Choice's pussy has been sore, so I'd say he's the odd man out or traded.

I don't see them cutting Choice since Murray hasn't seen the field. If they kept 4 Miller would be the odd man out.

Well..coach Jones has already said they're only keeping three RBs so I doubt it. The only reason I say Choice is maybe we trade him, or the team thinks Choice's injury will linger throughout the season.

You're right though we haven't even seen Murray on the field yet, so why he would he say he's safe. That's the question.

Miller had no blocking. I want to see more than a couple of quarters in a first preseason game.

By all accounts the kid was really impressive during the training camp practices.

I'd be curious to see what holes you thought he missed. I watched the entire game, twice. And the blocking was bad.

Tanner produced behind the same line. When Miller had a carry with the first team in the first series he did nothing. He will be cut IMO.

It was some of the same line, but Miller played against some of the better Deenver players too, not just against the scrubs.

Tanner definitely benefitted from some better OL play. Not saying that to take anyhting away from him, because he was impressive. But Miller had almost no shot on most of his carries.
