Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten and inside linebacker Sean Lee both emerged from Sunday's win at Indianapolis with sore bodies.

Witten was hobbled by a sprained ankle that forced him to briefly leave the game during the 18-play touchdown drive in the fourth quarter. Witten talked his way back into the game and capped the drive with a two-yard scoring catch.

"He was banged up pretty good in the game,'' interim head coach Jason Garrett said. "But typical Witten, he goes out and then he comes right back in and continues to get through the game.''

Lee jammed his left shoulder when buried under a pile after his scoring return on an interception in the third quarter. He left the game to be examined by doctors and have extra padding added to his equipment.

"He was pretty sore today, but he's one of those guys who says "I'll be ready, coach,' " Garrett said.

The club did not have the results of neurological tests on cornerback Orlando Scandrick, who missed the second half because of a concussion. Scandrick said he experienced improvement overnight and was able to participate in the club's gift-giving tour of area children's hospitals.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant will require about three to four months of rehabilitation work after undergoing surgery today, interim head coach Jason Garrett said.

Bryant fractured the right fibula and also incurred ligament damage in the right ankle after being tackled during a kickoff return during Sunday's overtime win at Indianapolis. He will not play again this season.

``We look forward to having him back,'' Garrett said. ``It's unfortunate that he's not going to have these last four games. But he's a young guy who will come back bigger and better than ever.

``We feel bad that he's not going to have these last four games continue to that development, but there's no question he's made great strides.''

We're obviously going to put Dez on IR.

I wonder who we bring in to take his roster spot?

Oh . . . and I'm all for putting Romo on IR. I was excited to see him play with Dez, but now since that won't be happening, the team has my permission to put him on IR and bring another young guy on board to evaluate for next season.
