A little more now from DeMarcus Ware, who we caught up with for the first time this offseason while he spoke to reporters on Sunday night at Taste of the NFL.
Used almost exclusively as a pass-rusher under Wade Phillips, Ware is looking forward to all the different things he expects new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan will do with him schematically.
"He has a very diverse defense," Ware said. "I play a lot of positions in that defense. You're going to be seeing me drop some, rush some, play defensive line ... his defense is one of the best in the league and that's why they have him here."
Ware really is one of the most unique players in the game. He's the best pass-rusher in football, so there's a temptation to bring him at the quarterback every play, but he's probably also the Cowboys' best coverage linebacker. We've seen him hold his own when matched up against little running backs way down the field.
It'll be interesting to see how often Ryan will sacrifice his unique ability to get to the quarterback as a changeup.
