Dave Hyde of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports a North Carolina pastor and Redskins fan was visiting Washington for his daughter's volleyball tournament and saw Haslett, the Washington defensive coordinator, at a hotel restaurant. He approached Haslett, talked with him for five minutes ... and a few days later posted this blog on the web site Hog Haven.

From their conversation, pastor Rod Denny related how Haslett said (a) the Redskins weren't that interested in Matt Flynn, (b) wanted Peyton Manning and (c) were trying to trade up to get Robert Griffin III.

That touched off a media storm in which Haslett denied saying this to every Washington paper and radio station. The fan stands behind his story.

I've been told (read on twitter) that the Redskins were considering trading their first 3 picks this year and #1 next year to move up from 6 to 2 to take RG3.

I wold love it if they did that.

1. I don't think he's (Griffin) going to pan out.
2. They have a lot of holes, and that is a lot to pay to move up just a few spots.

Please make this happen, Snyder.

The Browns have more ammo to trade with than the Redskins.

I'm on the fence about RG3. I don't really want him going to the Redskins, but the bust factor is there and it'd be funny to see the Redskins give up the farm and then have nothing. Right now the main part the Redskins are missing is QB, so I'd prefer to see them not get RG3 in case he does turn out to be a player and have them come up empty again this year in the QB dept.

The Browns are in a better position since they just need to move up 2 spots instead of 4. On the other hand, that would mean the Rams would receive less from the Browns than Redskins. If the Rams really want Blackmon then I'd trade with Cleveland since he will likely be there at #4. If they have several players they like then moving to 6 would be best for them.

RG3 had better numbers than Newton did in the Combine and I had Newton labeled a bust.

I'm not falling for the (bust label) with RG3, he's the real thing.

And like Cam, he can escape pressure and hurt you. Or he could throw the ball 60 yards off his back foot and hurt you that way too.

Well think about it. You just admitted that you were wrong about Newton---referred to him as a bust. Now you're saying the opposite of RGIII and are calling him the "real thing". Being that so far the opposite occurs to what you say, then RGIII will be a bust, and not the real thing as you claim.

Don't put words in my mouth. Where did I say RG3 would be a bust?

I'm not putting words in your mouth. Learn to read. What I said is that what you tend to predict, the opposite occurs. You admitted this yourself in regards to Cam Newton. You said that Newton would be a bust, but he turned out to be anything but that. Now you'rw saying that RGIII is the "real deal". Well based on your track record with predictions, we can conclude and expect RGIII to be a bust. Understand?

Yeah, I understand I was wrong about Newton and I won't be about RG3. Two different opinions on two different QBs. That's all I was referring to in that post. And my track record with predictions? Care to share?

Newton? Anything else you can dig up? Feel free to browse the forums. People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.
