Did Cowboys force feed Dez Bryant too much?

The Cowboys force fed Dez Bryant in his Cowboys debut.

Quarterback Tony Romo threw 12 passes in the rookie's direction. That's one more than he threw to Mile Austin.

Here's the difference. Bryant caught eight of those passes for 56 yards. Austin had 10 receptions for 146 yards and a touchdown.

The game plan shows how much offensive coordinator Jason Garrett :Dunce thinks of Bryant and the impact he can have on this team in 2010. But did he go to him too much? Did tight end Jason Witten get lost in Bryant's glare? He's been big on opening day in recent years, yet he caught only three passes Sunday for 27 yards.

There is a lot to work out between now and Sunday against Chicago.

The back to back WR screens on the first drive pissed me off.

I get trying it once, because he's good in space with the ball in his hands, and he hasn't played in a while so you want to hit a high percentage pass just to knock the rust off him a little . . . but back to back? Why?

I will say that Dez and Miles were the two bright spots in the passing game. Hell . . . even Roy made a monster catch on 3rd and long, and the should've been game winner.

I don't think they force feed him too much, in fact it's good to get as many reps as possible so he can learn as he goes.

They definitely did.

And I'd bet good money they were following the orders of the fake GM.

He said a couple of years ago that he's involved in personnel packages, substitutions, protections. I don't think it's a stretch to think he told his puppet staff he expected to see Dez get a lot of chances in that game.

Midswat. I've seen those side passes/WR screens so many times up here with Carter and Moss. They ran them text book. The reason why they worked with thsoe guys was because they AUDIBLED into those plays. Thye didn't call that play in a huddle and ran with it. Thye would line up and if they saw the CB 10 yards off the LOS, then they would audible that play and it would be money. You don't call that play with the CB sitting on top of the WR, and then turn around and call it again in a row.
