While Dez Bryant still has three more years remaining on his contract after this year, don’t be surprised if a renegotiation isn’t too far away.

Especially since Bryant has changed agents, replacing Eugene Parker with Drew Rosenhaus, arguably the most visible sports agent in the NFL.

Bryant’s ties to Deion Sanders likely led him to sign with Parker before being drafted. But Sanders, who has been more like a mentor for Bryant, has reportedly severed ties with the second-year receiver.

So it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that Bryant is moving on to a new agent in Rosenhaus, who also represents Mike Jenkins and Kevin Ogletree. Rosenhaus did have Abram Elam as a client when he signed a one-year deal but no longer servers as his agent.

Bryant is just two seasons into a five-year, $11.8 million contract that included $8.5 million guaranteed. However, if the Cowboys have interest in keeping Laurent Robinson, who will be a free agent and could warrant starting receiver dollars, the club might want to redo Bryant’s deal as well. It’s likely Bryant and Rosenhaus won’t be comfortable with being the third-highest paid receiver on the team behind Austin and Robinson.

Then again, the Cowboys might not even make a strong push for Robinson, or at least until after he tests the free-agent market.

Regardless of that situation, it’s clear Bryant is already thinking about his next contract and has found the guy to help him get there.

Scumbag signs with scumbag. Sounds right.

Sued to pay his jewelry bills; sued to pay back rent; stiffed fans at an autograph show at the last minute; getting into trouble at shopping malls; lied to the NCAA; two children with different mothers, neither of whom he's married to; etc. Nice player; miserable human being.

He's not a scumbag. He's a young guy who grew up with a prostitute as his mother, and then given millions of dollars.

He's made a lot of bad decisions and mistakes. But he's hardly a scumbag.

You don't need to commit a crime to reach scumbag level. People always defended TO by saying, "Yeah, well at least he's never been arrested!" Big deal.

That's been derailed, apparently. All those shortcomings in one human being = scumbag.

If the worst thing you can sat about him is that he created a human and missed a signing(then later made it up free of charge or something he said on twitter) I'll take it

The rest is just paper garbage. I'm driving w/ an invalid license right now bc I need to renew it

"Scumbag" is a bit harsh. I think he's doing pretty well considering his situation. There are tons of Dez Bryants out there right now shooting heroin in some slum rather than even working at all.

NYC-based company says Cowboys WR Dez Bryant is ducking another lawsuit

Cowboys WR Dez Bryant will have more on his mind on Sunday when he heads to New Jersey to play the Giants. The mercurial playmaker is facing another legal battle, this time in the backyard of his team’s bitter rival.

Endurance Capital Fund, a NY-based micro-finance company, is alleging that Bryant borrowed $100,000 and has refused to repay the full amount owed. The debt is now over one year past due, and Bryant currently owes more than $50,000.

Bryant has been involved in financial and legal woes before. This offseason, it came out that he owed more than $800,000 in two lawsuits. This, however, is a new one. And it just may spice up an intense NFC East rivalry.

ECF, which works with athletes and entertainers to help them purchase luxury items such as cars, yachts and vacation homes, is in the process of attempting to serve Bryant with a lawsuit, but he has managed to avoid the process servers in Texas.

Representatives for the company may try to serve him at the team hotel, but it also may wait until next week or whenever the Cowboys season is over.

Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple declined to comment, citing the team’s policy on such issues.

ECF provided the following statement to me:

“This was a simple transaction with a loan agreement and promissory note reviewed by Mr. Bryant’s advisors and signed by Mr. Bryant. We held up our side of the bargain, now we are simply asking that Mr. Bryant follow through with what he promised to do.

We have reached out to everybody from Mr. Bryant’s agent to his mortgage broker to try to get this debt repaid. Everyone acknowledges the debt, but nobody will come forward to repay it. This is a unique and disappointing experience. We have never had a client refuse to repay their debt before.”

he went spending crazy and now he needs rosenhaus to get him more cash.

There's officially enough noise, no matter the degree, that saying anything about DEz is fair game.
