In a brief conversation before walking into the Cowboys' war room, Jones confirmed he didn't speak with Bryant. The Cowboys were hoping to visit with Bryant to discuss some of his off-the-field issues and to check on his surgically repaired ankle, which he broke on Dec. 5.
Several Cowboys players arrived at Valley Ranch on Friday and worked out, including tackle Marc Colombo, who might get released when the 2011-12 league year starts.
The Cowboys drafted Tyron Smith, a tackle from USC, and he's being projected as a right tackle.
"[Colombo] just does his work," line coach Hudson Houck said. "It never came up, but it's a business."

Didn't they reinstate the lockout ? If so he can't meet with him.

That's why I'm not jumping to conslusions.

I think he had a window to meet with Jones, but who knows if the meeting was cancelled between the two of them. Jones just mentioned that he did not meet with Jones.

The title is misleading as far as we know.

The actual title is something like, Dez Bryant ducks Jerry?

Receiver Dez Bryant didn't make it by Valley Ranch Friday to speak to owner Jerry Jones.

It wasn't his fault. Jones said it was his inability to carve out a spot on his schedule that led to the two missing connections.

"I couldn't get it worked to where I could give him a sure time as busy as we've been here,'' Jones said between the second and third round of Friday night's draft. "But I'll get to him.''

Jones did not rule out that the two will be able to get together later this weekend. Even though a three-judge panel granted a temporary stay on an injunction to lift the lockout, Jones said the players will be welcome at the facility until the next stage of this legal drama unfolds.

Jones and head coach Jason Garrett want to get together with Bryant to discuss what has been a rocky off-season for the team's first round pick from last year.

He tweeted earlier today that he was at Valley Ranch so this story is a non one.

I'll just say this. If Dez did blow him off, Jerry would do damage control if the story got out. Like "Hey, my fault. I was busy."

Not saying that's what this is. Just saying I don't believe a word he says about it.

Yeah but why would Dez tweet he was at a VR coffee shop before the story broke ?
