Dez Bryant's high right ankle sprain has improved from last week but not enough for him to practice on Thursday.
Wade Phillips was not sure if Bryant would be able to practice on Friday.
"We're getting him to the game but we'd like to get him well before the game," Phillips said.
While having the extra day of work with a Monday game against the New York Giants, Bryant's health could be an issue for the Oct. 31 game against Jacksonville. Phillips does not believe Bryant is hobbled, pointing to the 31-yard touchdown catch and long punt return that was called back last week at Minnesota as proof.
"He's not practicing and all of a sudden he plays and gets through the ballgame but it takes a while to recover," Phillips said. "We have a Monday night game that should help the process. We're seeing if we can get him well this week but we have a short week next week. We're trying to work on that now."
