Like any rookie, Dallas Cowboys' wide receiver Dez Bryant is going through a learning process. The curve is steeper for Bryant because he missed much of training camp and all five exhibiton games because of a high ankle sprain.
Despite that, Bryant has at least 50 yards in receptions in each of the club's three games. That is a significant accomplishment, offensive coordinator Jason Garrett said.
``He's got a lot of steps to take,'' Garrett said. ``He's transitioned well for a guy who missed most of training camp. To be able to perform as well as he has been very impressive.''
Garrett said Bryant needs to continue refining his route-running abilities while expanding his understanding of the offense. Bryant has not been intimidated by this level of play, Garrett said.
``He's not bothered by game situations,'' Garrett said. ``He embraces them. He loves to play, and he can make plays. We've tried to give him an opportunity to do that, and he has stepped up and responded.''
