Receiver Dez Bryant had nine catches for 141 yards and a touchdown. He wasn't happy.

He dropped a pass and was called for offensive pass interference, two big plays in a 17-16 loss.

"I just feel like all training camp, we worked hard," Bryant said. "A lot of us are down right now just because of the time and the effort we put in over from the summer. We all know that how we played is not acceptable. I know we’re going to go back in and do what we need to do and clean up these mistakes and get it right."

Bryant had gained a step on cornerback Brandon Flowers, which he did most of the day, only to drop a perfectly thrown pass from Tony Romo near midfield in the fourth quarter when the Cowboys were trying to come back. Instead of being in Kansas City territory, the Cowboys ended up punting.

"I just can’t beat the guy, and then be nonchalant with the football," Bryant said. "That’s what I did. I shouldn’t have done that. That was a huge mistake on my end. You can’t win like that."

It was a rare drop for Bryant, who made tough catches all day. He rebounded from last week when the Giants double teamed him, holding him to four catches for 22 yards.

"He made plays all day," Cowboys offensive coordinator Bill Callahan said. "I thought he had a terrific game, and unfortunately guys have drops at key times. That was one of them. But we should have done enough as a team to overcome that. It was disappointing. But I thought Dez, for coming back from the game he did and being double-teamed last week, I thought he came back and answered a lot of critics in the sense that he competed and made a lot of plays for us, especially in the first half as well as the second."

Bryant, though, also had an offensive pass interference penalty in the first half, negating a 22-yard gain. Instead of a first down at their own 34, the Cowboys faced a second-and-14 at the 6. They punted two plays later.

"I didn’t see the replay, but the other guys all told me it as an aggressive call in that regard," Romo said.

Because of the Cowboys' poor field position -- an average drive start of their own 21 with only one of 12 drives starting in Kansas City territory -- the PI and the drop both prevented Dallas from at least flipping the field.

"More than anything, it was a field-position game. It really was," Romo said. "It’s hard to go 10, 12 plays out there, and that’s what you needed to do. That’s why the penalties are very difficult. The penalty on Dez was a really, really big penalty just because it’s hard to get chunk yards against that football team. If you get them, that’s a way that you can attack their defense. That’s what you have to do to score points. If you can’t, it’s going to be a tough one."

That PI was a bullshit call. Period. I wouldn't even call that on the defender. That call stalled the momentum on that drive, which I believe was the intended effect.

Just shut the hell up you stupid fuckwad choker. How about throwing the ball to Dez in one on one coverage in the end zone instead of to some loser on a screen that had no chance? How about that?. Romo is fucking done in my eyes. The POS can not make good decisions when the pressure is on.

Pep, maybe you can explain why he did not throw to Dez with single coverage by the end zone and instead blew the game by throwing to a nobody that did not have a chance in hell of scoring? Romo should not be running his mouth. Chokers and excuse makers need to shut the hell up. I have no idea why you think that was a good play by Romo. Romo has no business talking crap on his teammate after he personally choked away another game. Romo is not a leader and never will be.

Maybe bbgun can post the video.

Jon, he is not going to get better. I think we all know that at this point. He is what he is. He can carve up teams all day long, but when it counts he chokes.

"The penalty on Dez was a really, really big penalty just because it’s hard to get chunk yards against that football team."

It is pretty classless of Romo to bitch about the Dez's penalty considering all the horrible decisions he made himself. Did Dez go the the media whining about Romo's screw ups? If he did, I missed it.

Maybe you never played competitive sports, but we were always taught to keep shit in the locker room and not call out issues or mistakes in front of non-team members. The point is Romo did not have to say anything about the penalty. The only thing Romo should be doing is apologizing for all his screw-ups that cost us the game.

How he missed an open Dez for a TD, I will never know. He did not even look at him in single coverage.

Man, I hope so. He is going to be here for awhile, but I have trouble believing all of a sudden he will figure it out. Maybe better coaching would make a difference. I am really hoping Gruden can come in and clean up Romo's game.

He just needs to get better and find a way to win at the end of the game.

I don't think he was bitching about Dez, I think he was saying that that call really hurt them.

LOL

You're insane if you think I purposely seek out your posts. I thought your stupidity was confined to the News/Political forum, so I avoided those forums recently. I guess there's no one to argue with your ridiculous opinions to any more in there, so you decided to try to talk football. Doesn't change the fact that you're a moron.

FFS... you think he was bitching about Dez there? It's time for something stronger than xanax.
