At Oklahoma, where he spent four seasons amassing 5,256 yards from scrimmage, DeMarco Murray played for a high-profile program and became a well-known name in college football. But Murray doesn't seem to relish the spotlight. He was rather taciturn when he was introduced to the local media after he was drafted in the third round of the NFL Draft in late April. And as this video by NFL.com shows, he is reserved -- even around his teammates.

"We're both quiet," said St. Louis Rams quarterback Sam Bradford.

Since he was selected by the Cowboys, Murray has been working out at Oklahoma with Bradford, the former Sooners star who was named the offensive rookie of the year last season. Bradford, who was Murray's old roommate, is showing the Cowboys' newest running back the ropes.

"He tells me to be more mentally prepared," Murray said in the video. "Everybody is going to be fast and strong. Just continue to work out hard and keep yourself in shape all through the year."

Murray is doing just that and his workout regimen includes some unconventional training methods -- most notably mixed martial arts.

"It definitely makes you a stronger person," Murray said, who added that he is committed to making an impact as a first -year player.

"I don't want to sit on no bench," he said. "I want to contribute as soon as possible."
