FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – DeMarco Murray had mixed results in his first action as the lead horse in the Cowboys’ backfield.

The Cowboys relied on Murray more than Tashard Choice, who killed a golden scoring opportunity with a lost fumble in the first quarter, after Felix Jones suffered a high ankle sprain.

The third-round rookie responded immediately, carrying five times for 24 yards on the touchdown drive near the end of the first half.

But the rest of the game didn’t go so well with Murray. He finished with 32 yards on 10 carries. He lost yardage on his last two carries, putting the Cowboys in a third-and-long situation and essentially killing any chance of a time-chewing first down.

“I thought I did all right,” said Murray, who had only 39 yards on 14 carries in the first four games. “There are definitely some things I can do better. But more reps and time will tell.”

tanner is playing well on special teams, yes I know he lined up incorrectly but he is playing well.

I dont know what he has to do to get some carries, but I would love to see him get a few.....I am sure he has enough of an understanding of the offense to run a few or our run plays by now for gods sake.

I'd like to see Murray with more reps. I still believe this kid has something and could start for us. Felix is made out of glass.

Choice can go shit in a hat. Then Tanner can get a few reps of his.

He'll end up with Choice's snaps if he's ever active for a game.

From his preseason runs, he seems like just the right kind of back for this Oline. Very patient and able to sneak through the cracks. I'd love to see him active for a game and running a bit in garbage time in order to gauge his effectiveness. There is such a thing as garbage-time in the NFL still, right? I don't remember.

bite your tongue, they all might be garbage time starting in november if things dont go well here the next two weeks.

I know the line is causing the problem of not running, but I still dislike choice entirely.
