DC.COM Still Confident Jones: Buehler Has "A Lot Of Rope" At Kicker
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rob Phillips
IRVING, Texas - Cowboys owner/general manager Jerry Jones badly wanted those three points before David Buehler missed a 34-yard field goal attempt in last Sunday's 13-7 loss to the Washington Redskins.
But he doesn't want a new kicker.
Jones said Monday that Buehler's job security has "a lot of rope" as he enters the second regular-season place-kicking duties of his career Sunday against the Chicago Bears. The NFL's touchback leader last year as a rookie kickoff specialist, Buehler earned the full-time kicking job by making 10 of 11 preseason attempts, including 4-of-4 and the winning 31-yarder in the exhibition finale against the Miami Dolphins.
