Maybe someone can help me out, I know there's a word for what I have but I don't know what it is.

Yesterday I knew what the result would be. I watched it, and then got mad as hell anyway even though the game played out almost exactly as I had envisioned. What is the medical term for this? Or am I just a fucking bitter asshole? I don't know what it is, but I do know what the cure would be. Unfortunately I will never experience the cure, as the drunken owner will never fire the ridiculously inept GM.

This win wasn't ugly. it was FUGLY. (FUCKING UGLY). We battled a hopelessly lousy football team that themselves were decimated by injuries and internal strife and in the end, managed to make the outcome a toss up when almost any other team in the league would have beaten the Giants by 3 or 4 tds, or more. 4 days ago the Giants lost 30-7 to the Bucs at home, and were down 30-0 until the 4th quarter. The 20 pts the Giants scored vs us was their THIRD HIGHEST TOTAL of the season, and one of only three games they have scored 20 or more all year. And they scored 20 on us with a 3rd string QB and three backup OL starting.

1) As I commented during the game, I've never seen play calling so bad in my entire life. McCarthy is worse than Garrett at play calling. The Giants defense came into the game actually WORSE against the run than we've been, giving up nearly 150 yds per game rushing and a league worst 5.1 yds per carry. So what does moron fat man do? Have his weak armed backup QB throw the ball 36 times. We got down to the 11 yd on the opening possession and despite a couple nice rush plays earlier, Dowdle didnt get a single attempt after we had 1st down at the 11. 3 straight passes. Dowdle got 1 redzone carry on the next drive (1st down from 19). Next time we got inside the 10, no carries by Dowdle and instead gave a carry to Luepke and a Rush scramble (pass called) that resulted in a fumble, only to be saved by replay. Dowdle finally got two carries consecutively from inside the 10 on the next drive, and low and behold scored a TD. McCarthy was STILL calling pass plays for Cooper Rush late in the game, even though the Giants were missing BOTH starting DT's for most of the 2nd half. He got damn lucky Cooks made a great catch on the last 3rd down call, otherwise I have zero doubt this game would have went to OT (or just an out and out loss, as the Giants might have went for 2 had they scored again)

2) Trey Lance got zero plays yesterday. Wouldn't he be a better option if you intended for the QB to scramble or sneak than weak armed/weak legged Cooper Rush? Lance is bigger and faster than Rush, couldn't he have run a 4th and inches sneak instead of having Rush hand off to Luepke and get stoned in the backfield? They actually tried a read option play with Rush inside the 10 too (nearly disastrous results, as Zeke and Rush completely botched the exchange and the ball ended up on the ground)

3) How many guys see regular playing time for us that probably shouldn't even be on the active roster, let alone actually taking up plays from more deserving players? It's what defines this entire football organization, zero accountability for poor play and a complete fucktard at GM deciding who sees the field and who doesn't.

4) While the game itself was extremely ugly, there were a few bright spots. Rico Dowdle had the best game of his career and actually has an outside shot at a 1000 yd season (unlikely, but we had 5 games left and needs 400 yds so its possible). Luke Schoonmaker had another solid game. Mazi Smith is continuing his push towards becoming a potentially pretty solid starter. DeMarvion Overshown is a real star for us against the run and pass and made the play of the game with his blitz/deflection to himself/pick 6. Carl Lawson was credited with a team high 5 QB knockdowns yesterday and now has 4 sacks for the season (3rd on team). Thought DaRon Bland had a nice game and he nearly jumped one or two throws. Probably won't be long before he nets a few picks.

5) Jerry and Spawn normally hand out ridiculous contracts to our own guys for no reasons, but there's a few guys they should strongly consider doing short term extensions for, assuming the player would agree. Rico Dowdle is not a star but is a really quality backup RB that does a number of things well. Chauncey Golston has been having to start and while he will never be a front line regular starter, he is definitely a really solid rotational guy and can play anywhere on the DL. Osa Odighizuwa will probably test free agency (and probably worth it for him to do) but if they could get him to agree to a fairly team friendly 2-3-4 yr deal, he'd be worth keeping as well. In the right scheme, he could be a really, really good player because he definitely flashes a lot. He didnt get off to a great start this yr but has really come on (seems to coincide some with Mazi's improvement next to him) but he now has 3 sacks (2.5 in last 4 games) and 8 1/2 TFL's, which is one off his career high with 5 games to go.

Edit: Should have included backup IOL's TJ Bass and Brock Hoffman, especially if they c wrap them up for 2-3 years. Neither guy is Larry Allen, but each of them could be a John Gesek/Kevin Gogan type player. Dependable starters that play with some attitude. One of them is probably a lock to replace Zack Martin at RG after this season and the other becomes outstanding depth (as both are now)

6) Another rough game for injuries for this team. Juanyeh Thomas and Josh Butler both suffered what appear to be major knee injuries from non contact plays. Tyler Guyton also left the game in the first half with knee/ankle injuries (he said after the game it's a high ankle sprain I believe). We had just put Asim Richards on IR with a bad high ankle sprain. CeeDee clearly reaggravated the shoulder injury and after giving it a go for a few plays he came out and never returned either. Similar to McCarthy's first yr, they just can't get or stay healthy and players drop like flies every week it seems.

7) Micah Parsons had a good game, he had fairly consistent pressure and ended with 1.5 sacks. But he was playing against backup OT's and only netted 3 tackles. As bad as the Giants OT's were, I kind of expected more. He also had a terrible play on the punt block team in which it appeared he botched a fairly easy block by trying to one hand it. As Brady noted had he gone through the play and used both arms he probably blocks it easily. Instead he ran into the punter and the Giants got to re-kick, which stuck us inside our 1 and ended up netting the Giants 3 pts.

8) GROZ, it can't happen soon enough. Worst defensive coach in the history of the league when he has a lead. Doesnt matter how inept the other team is or how dominate Zimmer's team is playing in that game, if they have a lead in the 4th qtr it is NEVER safe. We got damn lucky yesterday that fat slobs pass call on 3rd down was a great catch by Cooks, otherwise I have no doubt at all that Zimmer would have found a way to let the Giants score another TD and tie (or perhaps win by going for 2) in the end. Also don't know if anyone caught it, but late in the game the Giants ran the EXACT same play the Redskins did last week that resulted in an 85 yd TD, and nearly had the EXACT same thing happen. Lock missed the gimmee throw though.

9) The Giants are really, really bad. But if not for Overshown's spectacular play and 13 accepted penalties, we probably lose this game. That said, I almost guarantee we'll see blowhard drunk owner Jerry out there crowing today or early next week about "being right where we want to be" and "this thing is not over" and "McCarthy has really rallied these guys". I really believe almost any other team would have drubbed the Giants yesterday.

I think the delusional talk will probably be short lived because I thoroughly expect the Bengals to roll this shit team a week from Monday. The Bengals are 4-7 going into this weekend but could EASILY have 7 or 8 wins now. Burrow is having a spectacular season and Chase/Higgins are probably the best pair of WR's in the league. 5 times they have scored 33 or more pts in a game. They'll beat us going away, probably something like 38-17 (or worse). We might beat Carolina (50/50 game IMO, Carolina has been playing a little better the last month) but then they'll lose badly to Tampa and Philly. The Washington game likely wont matter for us and they'll lose that one too. 6-11 is likely and I think 7-10 is the best case scenario.

It was ugly football for sure yesterday. And watching Cooper Rush at QB is just depressing and adds no joy to the experience of watching football. About the only thing he proves is just how bad Dak is. But Cooper is not an NFL QB by arm talent standards. He has none. He may have a 10 out of 10 footbal IQ but he has a 2 out of 10 arm talent. It was sad.

He seems to have just about everything else, it's too bad he can't generate enough RPM's.

That said, he isnt bad to have around as the 2nd or preferably, 3rd QB.

Need to study the QB's more but Carson Beck with the right coaching would be interesting. Playing more now like he did last yr after some int struggles early in season. Drew Allar is interesting too. A dark horse guy might be Louisville's Tyler Shough. All 3 of these guys are big and have above average to strong arms.

I wouldn't want him around as a 2 or 3. You've got enough experienced guys out there to take a flyer on like a Matt Jones but, to me, we should be developing QB's but at least have a bit more than a noodle arm.

I especially hear ya on the run game playcalling. I have never seen a more inept 3 stooges than McFraud, Schott and Solarski.
3 guys who have no idea how to scheme an effective and complimentary 2024 run game plan.
All your observations concerning this ineptitude is spot on.
Again, they literally have absolutely no clue in how to gameplan an effective run game.
