It was what we all expected, really ugly.
Not much to say about to be honest. Some nice sacks by Ward, Ross and Armstrong (who had several impressive plays, was probably his best preseason game IMO)
They should be in panic mode about the backup QB spot, but apparently arnt, Cooper Rush is a big bowl of fucking nothing as an NFL passing talent. Mike White at least is improving and has a legit NFL arm and passing skill, but he isn't ready to be the #2 guy. If I were running things there'd be a vet backup in here this week, Rush would be gone and White would carry the clipboard this year.
Have never seen a backup group of OL so bad in all my life, led by Chaz Green. Every week I watch him and think he is as bad as you can possibly get, and every week he proves me wrong by getting worse.
I do like the trade of our end of roster CB battling for 5th CB spot Ward for Chiefs backup OL Parker Ehinger. Won the starting G spot as a rookie but blew out his knee late that season. Has a lot of position flex, played T in college, started at G for the Chiefs and apparently Cowboys people think he may be able to backup at C too.
Thought DT Caraun Reid shoed well in the game, despite only being here a few days prior. Really liked him coming out of college and was hoping we'd pick him that yr. Not sure if he had enough chance to make the team this yr, but he does have some explosiveness at DT.
Really like our LB corp, we finally have some quality depth there.
Backup PK Brett Maher may have won him a job elsewhere with the preseason he had here and then blasting a 57 yd FG in Houston that probably would have been good from 60+
Game didn't show anything that really wasn't already know. We need help at safety and OL (although the trade for Ehinger helps), would feel better about TE if we'd get someone else in here.
I like most of our starters and we have depth is some places, but not enough in some others. Getting a legit FS would really make me feel great about the defense, which I do believe is going to be really good this year.
