Bad teams invent new ways to lose, and this is a BAD team. They don't even know simple rules info and with the blocked punt muff, that's actually the SECOND time we've done that in just a few season (Nashon Wright v Denver 2021).
Unfortunately there's four more games left of this utterly disastrous season, which with all things considered will go down as the worst in franchise history IMO. We've had some bad teams before, but this team was coming off three straight 12 win seasons and was expected by most to be a contender again. They've instead been laughably bad.
1) With all the fuck ups the ST have had, I don't see how they can not fire Fassell at this point. You have to cut Oruwariye too as there's ust no excuse to lose a game under those conditions. Watching the replay, even the fucking rookie CB Caelen Carson obviously knows the rule about not touching the ball, but Oruwariye doesn't for whatever reason. There's no accountability with this dipshit team though, so I'm sure both will be back at work today like nothing happened.
2) Just awful news for Overshown, who's arguably been the team's best player this season. Worked his ass off to be 100% for camp this yr and then had a great yr, getting better every week. Dynamic playmaker on the field, and now it's possible his career is over. Really feel bad for him (and us, he was a real difference maker and now his spot becomes another gaping hole for 2025)
3) Bonehead drunken fucktard Jones has already come out and said today that Cooper Rush will remain as the starter because he is still talking about "best chance to win". You know what dickhead, if you really want the "best chance to win" then you need to fire the incompetent GM who's provided nothing but failure for THREE decades. Rush was not good yesterday and his arm talent is just about as bad as you can get. He can't make the throws. The season is over, PLAY THE OTHER GUY.
4) Second straight career high game for Rico Dowdle, who had 18 carries for 131 yds and multiple chunk plays. For whatever reason though he was basically ignored in the redzone again. He got only 3 carries. Zeke "stuck in the mud" Elliott got 2 redzone carries (and gained a total of 4 yds). Dowdle is someone they should be trying to retain for the future because while he will ever be a dominant player, he has become very dependable and runs and catches well, gains tough yards. Wouldnt break the bank to do it, but if they could keep him with a moderate 2yr type deal I'd be pretty happy.
5) Ditto for UDFA OL Brock Hoffman and TJ Bass. Both have played really well and Hoffman moved during the game from RG to C after Beebe got hurt and played quite well there. They should definitely try to sign both of them to modest extensions because at least one of them (if not both) will be potential starters for 2025 and beyond.
6) GROZ cant happen soon enough. What kind of fucktard defensive plan features leaving arguably the most dynamic, dominant WR in the league one on one with virtually free releases off the LOS PLAY AFTER PLAY AFTER PLAY. And while Micah Parsons presence was definitely felt, the bottom line is he didnt even show up in the stat box. NO tackles. NO assists. NO tackles for loss. NO sacks. How does a coordinator do this? Parsons is one of the best players in the league and he was out there busting his ass and running all over the place (drew a couple holding calls and should have drawn many others) but a GOOSE EGG in the stat box? Zimmer sucks green slimy donkey dick.
7) Jones has literally given away 2024 and 2025 4th rd picks, for ZERO return. NOTHING. A top heavy cap roster that needs all the mid round picks it can get, and he's thrown away two good potential prospects for a backup QB he refuses to allow to play and a WR that can literally do nothing other than get in the way for a couple of run plays.
8) How pathetic and irrelevant are the Cowboys? We are now 1.5pt UNDERDOGS against the Bryce Young led 3-10 Carolina Panthers. Further, we went from three straight 12 win seasons to being the 4th worst team in the NFC (Only the Giants, Panthers and Bears have won fewer games). Way to go Jerruh!
Pathetic, disgraceful season in every way, shape and form. Literally every single thing a GM could possibly fuck up, Jerry found a way to fuck up. This is the worst team in the history of the franchise and its almost solely because of the fucking idiot owner/GM.
