Another week, another laughably inept and disgusting performance by the biggest pile of feces in the NFL, our Dallas Cowboys.
Like I said before, running out of shit to say. This is a historically bad football team and possibly the worst coached in the franchise's history (which would be quite an accomplishment). The fact that Jerry could witness what we have all seen since January and decide again that he should stick with the HC is beyond moronic. His postgame comments yesterday should result in the family putting him into a home for the grossly senile, because he was completely off his rocker. An utter embarrassment in every way possible.
1) Since Prescott didnt play, lets start with Jerry this week. This season is 1000% on him, it was the worst thought out and handled in the history of the league probably, but definitely the worst in franchise history. Literally every single thing Jerry did was wrong since witnessing that inexcusable home flop to a 9-8 Green Bay team. He's the biggest fucktard in the league and it isnt even close. His comments yesterday after the game should result in his family having him committed or something, and at the least removed from the decision making process completely. No true fan of this team should show up for a Cowboys game (home or away) ever again until Jerry is out as GM. He has ruined this franchise.
2) Prescott's injury just saved him from further embarrassment, I have little doubt the results would have been much different. He's been bad since the opening kickoff of the season. That said, Cooper Rush should be benched the rest of the season. Lance didnt get enough snaps but it was obvious he has a far better chance of doing anything positive than Rush. He's big, he has a very live arm and he can really run. The int he threw yesterday was not really his fault (which Romo and Nantz pointed out) as Tolbert just never looked. I havent seen replay clips online yet but on the broadcast it didnt appear to be a bad throw. And at least it GOT THERE. Rush grossly underthrow a number of balls and floated just about all others. Doesnt belong in the NFL any longer.
3) How can anyone watch Rico Dowdle v Zeke and decide Zeke warrants ANY snaps? We know why he is still on the team (#1 above) but he should never see the field. He's awful and his fumble was garbage yesterday. Dowdle was one of the few guys that had a decent game and he should be getting 15-20 touches every week. He's definitely not elite but he is a solid player. Will undoubtedly get a decent offer to play elsewhere next yr, and he's earned it. One of the few bright spots on the team this season.
4) 5 turnovers (for the 2nd straight home game) and no touchdowns (also the 2nd straight home game). This team is a complete shitpile in every way possible. Keystone cops like almost every series. Guys running into each other. Guys jumping at air to make a tackle ala Jaylon Smith (Hooker), players that cant even fall on a fumble clean when no others guys are around them. Guys running the wrong routes or never even looking for the ball. Then there's that ridiculous sun thing.
5) Hooker and Wilson had another horrendous showing at safety, and low and behold Markese Bell gets on the field and delivers one huge hit and plays well while he was in there, just like preseason. Juanyeh Thomas was out yesterday but like Bell, he was FAR better in preseason than these other guys. Fuck you Zimmer.
6) Mentioned it during the game, but while I hate Zimmer and his defense is trash, they played fairly well in the first half yesterday and had nothing to show for it thanks to Rush and Zeke. They had 5 sacks and forced two turnovers, and up until the last drive of the half had only yielded 7 pts. Second half though was a continuation of what we've seen all yr, with the defense offering almost no resistance to the opponent and getting trampled. Offense and defense both, I've never seen a team play this consistently bad on a week in and week out basis in the 2nd half.
7) You could tell from the commentary that this was painful to watch for Romo. He was never the "leader" he should have been here and I do put some of the blame over the Garrett failure on him (because Romo was the one guy other than Aikman that had some real pull with Jones) but you could just tell yesterday that he was truly stunned at how bad this team has become, and he knows its 100% Jerry. We get Aikman next week and unlike Romo, Aikman is far more candid about stuff concerning Jerry and the team. Ultimately its going to take a number of these real franchise legends condemning Jerry publicly to get any type of change started because he clearly doesnt care what the media or fans think, if guys like Aikman, Staubach, Romo, Irvin and others start calling a spade a spade publicly, it might get the ball rolling.
8) Will be interesting to see what the breakdown of Asim Richards play ends up being, because upon watching him for a full game to my eyes it appeared it was pretty solid. They have got to get Terrance Steele off the field and having a Guyton/Richards tandem at T appears to have a chance to be pretty good. Tyler Smith is bigtime and Beebe looks like he has a bright future. We'll probably have to replace Zack Martin next year (although TJ Bass has some potential) but the OL appears to have a chance to be solid, especially if they get the right OL coach and blocking scheme in here.
9) Hopefully Overshown is ok, he had a non-contact leg injury but said after the game he thinks he will be ok. They are still doing a MRI today however. He had another great game but missing that dead in the rights sack (would have been his 3rd of the game) cost us at least 4 pts. He's had a really yr and looks to be a legit probowl caliber player moving forward. Thought Parsons looked good in his return, had a couple sacks and some good pressure although it was obvious he was on a pitch count. Diggs had a solid game and really nice Diggs-esque pick in the endzone. If Bland is back to normal when (and if) he returns we have 4 pretty good players to build around. Hopefully Kneeland can return as his arrow was pointing up before his injury. We have a few pieces, but DT and Safety probably needs a complete overhaul.
Lost cause season thanks to the biggest fucktard in football. They'll get the living shit beat out of them again next Monday night v Houston, as well as the following Sunday at Washington. Seems like a lock to end up with a top-10, maybe even top 5 or 6 pick next April.
