Shayne Graham was signed earlier today, giving the Cowboys four kickers in this camp. What does it all mean?

Let's look at where everyone stands in this compeittion at the moment.

Graham _ Far and away the most proven of the group and looked very good in his tryout Monday. Given his health and experience, could be considered the leading candidate at the moment.

David Buehler _ He won't kick this week, meaning he will miss at least two pre-season games. The dilemma: if he's going to be this team's kicker entering the season, the club can't rush him back from his hip injury. But if he doesn't come back and impress, has he really done enough to earn the job?

Dan Bailey _ Looked good early but has hit a plateau in recent weeks. The dilemma: he hasn't attempted a field goal in two pre-season games. Because that makes him an unknown quantity, the club felt it had to bring in a more experienced kicker in Graham. Of course, bringing in Graham diminishes the opportunties Bailey receives to prove he can win the job.

Kai Forbath _ He had a quad injury when he signed with the Cowboys and hasn't kicked in this camp. It's unlikely he will kick before the start of the regular season. That makes it hard to win a job.
