IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys could be looking for Dan Bailey to handle all of the kicking chores Monday vs. Washington at Cowboys Stadium with David Buehler battling a groin strain.

Buehler was not on the injury report Thursday but he has not worn his kicking shoes to practice the last two days during the time the session was open to the media. Friday’s practice dealt mostly with punt returns, so he was not really needed.

Buehler has five touchbacks in the first two games in 10 kickoffs, good for 12th in the league.

Bailey had seven kickoffs in two preseason games at Cowboys Stadium with two touchbacks. Six of Bailey’s kickoffs made the end zone. One kick went to the 1 vs. San Diego and was returned 36 yards.

The Redskins use wide receiver Brandon Banks on kick returns and he is averaging 25.5 yards a return with a long of 31 yards in the first two games.

Is that really good enough to warrant a roster spot?

Something is up with the trainers in not making sure that these players are stretching properly. But that would also fall upon Woicik.

so our offense is limited...really limited...our defense is still until we see it down two corners and now we have lost the kickoff advantage in buehler......who by the way would kick the long fg's...

awesome. How can the redskins not win this game going away? if they dont it will sure say alot about them.

Bailey nailed that 48 yarder last week. That one probably would have been good from 55. I'm not all that confident in him accuracy-wise, but I'm not about Buehler either. I think Bailey would be fine on long FGs distance-wise. It's not like we need to try a bunch of 60 yarders.

We need to hire a new groin coach.

A new hamstring coach too.

And I'd bring a punctured long/rib coach in for an interview, just to keep people on their toes.

yeah he nailed that one...it was at the high point of the net in the back of the endzone....Hopefully that translates to him being able to make a 50 plus yarder....
