Cowboys Sign Another K

Cowboys add UCLA kicker Kai Forbath
August, 2, 2011

By Todd Archer

The Cowboys added another kicker to the roster in UCLA's Kai Forbath, but he will need some time before he hits the field.

Forbath was signed and added to the non-football injury list that already includes Andre Gurode, DeMarco Murray and Bruce Carter because of a quadriceps strain.

He will join a competition between David Buehler and Dan Bailey, who won the Lou Groza Award in 2010.

Forbath was a second team all-Pac 10 pick last year after connecting on 13 of 18 field goal attempts.

Forbath won the Groza Award in 2009 when he made 28 of 31 field goals. For his career he made 85 of 101 tries.

BYE-BYE Buehler, he's as good as gone. Now we have 3 kickers in camp. No way do we keep 3 or even 2 for that matter.

This tells me they don't trust Beuhler, but don't like how Bailey wobbles kick offs.

They put Forbath on NFI, so we wont see him for at least a few days, if not a few weeks.

What does it say about me that I literally laugh out loud every time someone brings up Poots in a post?

If only we attacked our safety problem half as hard as they are trying to with our kicking issue....

well SBK did say a great punter is more valuable than a great CB, so a great kicker is obviously more valuable than a great safety

I just remember someone on Cowboys-Forum saying last year that a safety was like the defenses full back. You don't really need them to be stand outs.

Then we went 6 and 10 and lost Romo because of a Full Back and had the NFL record for most points allowed or some shit because of our Safetys. I'm gonna say they are pretty important!

I think they should keep Beuhler and put him in at safety. That boy likes to hit people, is strong as an ox, and we will sorely miss him on ST if the KR gets to the 40.
