The Dallas Morning News columnist Tim Cowlishaw answered a wide variety of questions in a chat Wednesday. Here are a few topics and responses that relate to the Cowboys.

On drafting an offensive lineman if the Cowboys have a top five pick:

Tim Cowlishaw: There are a lot of strong NFL teams that don't have linemen picked at the top of the first round. If there's a special talent there, sure, I agree you have to consider it. But I think there would be lots of ways to go. What if there's a cornerback that you think is the next Darrelle Revis or Nnamdi Asomugha?

On how many new starting linemen the Cowboys will have by the end of this season and start of next season:

Tim Cowlishaw: There could be three new linemen by next year. Keep in mind the more changes you make, the longer it's going to take to get to a decent place with that line. Not to say they don't have to make changes but it's the hardest place to make nice, quick clean changes.

On the Cowboys beating the Eagles in a few weeks:

Tim Cowlishaw: Cowboys play them twice at end of season. I wouldn't expect the Cowboys to be favored in either game. I certainly don't think the Eagles are invincible. But their receivers should light up this secondary if you look at how everyone's playing right now.

On if Sean Lee will be ready to take over the starting position from Keith Brooking by the first game of next year:

Tim Cowlishaw: I don't know why not. What are we talking here...the ability to give pre-game speeches?

On drafting a quarterback in the first round:

Tim Cowlishaw: I wouldn't completely give up on Romo. I know a lot of fans want to. The clock is definitely ticking there. I'm not against drafting a QB high, but it wouldn't be my first choice unless that was just the clear guy to take.

Drafting a QB at the top doesn't have to be giving up on Tony Romo. I don't know why people freak out about quality depth at the most important position on the field.

Drafting a Luck or Locker or Mallett this spring can simply be a value too good to pass up and a guy who you feel can step in and continue Romo's quality of play while he's here and/or be a nice trading chip if it comes to that down the road.
