The media hasn't had any contact with Dez Bryant since the rookie underwent season ending surgery.

But Cowboys receivers coach Ray Sherman talks to him every day.

"He is great,'' Sherman said. "Even when he broke it after the game he was good. The thing about him was even when he had the surgery, he was trying to get out of the hospital the same day. He's coming along good.

"I see him every day. We talk. We'll talk on the phone. He's been getting his treatment. He's coming along very well. Eventually we'll get him back on the field.''

What do the two talk about?

"Just him getting healthy,'' Sherman said. "It's him making sure he's getting his treatment every day.

"I also talk to him about his eating habits, just making sure that he doesn't do anything that's going to put on a lot of weight. He's been doing all the right things.''

One thing Bryant hasn't done is attend the position meetings. Sherman said that's not a concern. He's confident that Bryant will be able to pick up where he left off once he does return.

Anybody bothered by the fact he's not attending position meetings?

Yes and No.

I mean he should be there to learn more, but at the same time he's not playing.

The guys talented as we all know, so I don't think it really hurts him.

I just don't like how everyone (coaches, GM) is quick to coddle him in the media. Is is psyche really that frail?

Are you serious? Wait, you aren't being serious are you? LOL. I am not sure.

But, if you are, what was "coddling" about what Sherman said? Bryant is doing great, is in high spirits, what's the problem?
